  1. Thanks; can you inform which member made the side stripe decals for you?
  2. Damn; wish I could paint bodies like that; are you using paint booth to keep out dust particles?
  3. Nice work on the color conversion Brudda; I may have a solution for for body emblem replacements in photo etch; email me for details:
  4. Thanks for the report; it could be a metallic blotch as I had shown in the center picture of my post above.
  5. Here's photos of the First and second replacement hoods, it is worse than the first one: I've gotten paint paint quality on $30.00 Maisto models- someone should be doing quality control checks on these parts.
  6. I was very much looking froward to building the Corvette, however the paint quality is lacking; the silver metallic was sprayed so heavily the metallic builds up on the hood edges and changes the silver color by darkening it. It is shame that the paint cannot be better applied, orange peel and metallic buildup is unacceptable in a model in this price range, and having it repainted by a professional would add several hundred dollars to build cost. I am sorry to say I will be canceling this model.
  7. Same problems here too; I trimmed and lowered the fluid filler under the moveable grille, removed some of the underhood structure and moved the spare tire slightly back. For the rear, it was much more challenging- reshaping the area where it meets the roof , grinding that area to make it thinner so the cover will fit flush and reshaping the sides to make it flush with the center section area was done, still not perfect , but better [see attached] I applaud you having the paint skills to sand and clear coat your bodywork; I did use a paint sanding/polishing kit to remove most of the orange peel, but not all of it. It is a shame the body fit and paint quality is poor for such an expensive model to build, I wanted much better.
  8. Interesting that model will be available for preorder in June and in two versions; pristine and 'bullet ridden'/damaged--it will be hard to choose, maybe just get both ..........
  9. Well done; certainly is unique with the gold accents. You might get the nose section to fit better by trimming the filler tube under the grille that lifts up.
  10. Received shipping notice this morning, the Corvette is on its way at last.
  11. It was advertised shipping would start April 23rd; perhaps there is a delay? I don't see my preorder in my subscriptions and orders page, shouldn't it be shown?
  12. Has anyone received issue number 12[ the final installment] yet? I was billed on 4/22[Saturday] and it usually ships the following Monday, which would have been 4/25
  13. Model build complete: the display case arrived this week and compliments the display plinth and serial numbered plaque; only thing left to do is figure out how to display the upper bodywork panel within the case. This is one of the most detailed partworks models available , glad to have been able to acquire #43 of 60
  14. I hope the main body section is cast as all one piece [ less hood and doors]: the 300SL tooling was made to have a separate roof and a noticeable seam.

    300SL

This is a reissue of the Eaglemoss/IXO tooling 300SL;; I has found a lot of paint issues when first distributed and cancelled it, hopefully that will be resolved this time around.
  16. A choice of a Red or Black supercar; I would think a Lamborghini Countach would fall into that category:
  17. The past few issues are taking a MONTH from the billing date to actual arrival in the US: is it the fulfillment company, or the mail service, or both causing such an extraordinary time delay????? No sooner does the latest issue arrive then the next day the billing comes for the next issue.
  18. Glad to see how much progress you've made and how much better these look than the partworks pieces, Mike- I'm wanting these!
  19. Impressive work on the dashboard; someone should make this as an upgrade kit, particularly the rocker switch area where the kit piece has the switches molded in..............
  20. Neildon: I've built the DeAgostini Gt40; if this one is for you depends on how much accuracy you want in model; There are many areas in the model that are inaccurate, though it does make nice display model when finished-from 3 feet and beyond .
  21. The Ferrari pictured above is the P4; not the P3, as evidenced by the spoke wheels; the P3 had a shorter nose and slotted wheels.
  22. Well done; those enhances do improve the look of the engine and interior, I especially like the battery cable ends-did you make all these parts your self, or are they available aftermarket pieces, I'd purchase them .
  23. You're 'on a roll' Mike; it just looks better already! Hope it prints as good as it looks in the images.
  24. Those switches look really good; A ton better than the models in kit part; just thought- maybe make the swtich tow pieces, one of the base and the of the toggle, then it can be positioned either way?
