Administrator Mark, The Master Modeller Posted March 23, 2023 Administrator Share Posted March 23, 2023 Stage 45 gives us the rear chassis reinforcing frame and the 'transmission cooling line.' I'm going to hazard a guess that this is the brake cooling duct, but not sure until we actually fit that part. Take the support bracket and screw it to the inner half of the cooling line. Screw on the outer half of the cooling line. Push the pipe outlet into position. This assembly can now be set aside until later. The reinforcing frame fits to the rear chassis with pins at the rear and screws at the front. Here is a close-up of one of the rear pins. Get these located first. The screw holes are more difficult to align. I push a cocktail stick through the screw holes to align the frame properly, Then, without moving anything, remove the cocktail stick and insert the screw. The photo isn't very clear, but you can see the cocktail stick behind the top of the upright and radius arm. Take the shock absorber springs and pistons from stage 41/42. Fit the spring and piston over the shock absorber cylinder. Now compress the spring and push the top of the shock over the pin on the bracket. Then secure it with a screw. Repeat on the other side to complete the stage, and the pack.
