Administrator Mark, The Master Modeller Posted March 22, 2023 Administrator Share Posted March 22, 2023 Stage 43 gives us the rear drive shafts, anti-roll bar, rear cross member and some other details. There is quite a lot to do in this stage. Take the drop links and screw them to the rear uprights. Screw the lower wishbones to the rear axle cross member. Note the orientation of the raised ridges on the cross member. It must go the right way round. Here are both upright assemblies fixed to the cross member. Take the longer half shafts and fix the universal joints with a couple of screws. Now add the two shorter half shafts. Turn the model over and fix the cross member to the bottom of the engine with a single screw in teh centre. \ Insert the longer end of the half shaft into the cordon socket on the transaxle. Fold up the upright, inserting the shorter half shaft into the hole in the upright. Now take the longer radius rod and manipulate it into the socket in the chassis. It's a bit fiddly, and the occasional 'adult word' may help! The other end of the radius rod clips over the pin on the chassis. You can secure the radius rod with a screw in each end once both ends are properly located. Repeat on the right hand side of the car. Turn the model over again and finish fixing the cross member to the chassis with 2 more screws. Take the radius arms and fit them to the bottom of the chassis. The bracket on the other end is secured to the upright. Take the anti-roll bar and secure it to the chassis with the two plate brackets. Here's close-up on one of the plate brackets. Secure the top ends of the drop links to the anti-roll bar. This completes the stage.
