Pack 5 - Stage 37. The aileron mechanism.

Stage 37 gives us the aileron and flap operating mechanism.

This is screwed in place with 4 screws.

IT's a good idea to check that everything is moving freely.  I found that the aileron mechanism (the white lever in the centre was fine.  However, the flap mechanism was binding.  This is the white toothed gear rack that sticks out the back.  It was fouling on the wing centre section, you can see here.  The right side was the one binding, but the left side was very close.

This was easily fixed by filing a small amount of material off the centre section until it moved freely.  I filed both sides, to make sure there was a reasonable gap both sides.  There is no need to touch up the paint as this part should be hidden in the finished model.
