I'd be guessing but the M could stand for Metric and the different letters just identify certain lengths and/or thread size, e.g. PM = 2x4 mm screws

I have no idea what the letters mean. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. I do know the silver screws are used on the hull.

Screws named for the material they were used

 

AM = M for Metall --> screw will be used for metall material

AP = P for Plastic --> screw will be used for plastic material

 

This name convention is used by other partworks
