  1. So as I have built i have kept an index of all the stages for quick reference along with a count of all the parts assembled. This includes all the screws but not the spares. Quite interesting to note that the tally totals 814!
  2. Yeah that looks correct. It could just be the paint thickness making it a tight fit in the corners where it hinges as its quite thick You could also try scraping some of the paint away from the bar of the bracket and the groove and add a little bit of grease in there to help too. Dont clamp the crew too tightly, but it should be OK once you attach the door to the body later down the line as you will essentially have a big lever. One of my door hinges is a bit tighter than the other but I'm not too worried about it. Will see how things are when pack 12 arrives soon and I can attach the doors properly
  3. Can you post a picture of what you have? It may be that you put the hinge bracket on the wrong way around
  4. Hammer price was actually $3.5m but it calculated to $3.85 with the auction fees. Still the most expensive 'stang in history. A few more are going up for sale over the next few days at the Mecum auction house in florida including a 1965 Gt350R fastback (1 of only 34 produced!) Estimated at $1.2-1.5m but may well clear for much more than that! Also up in the next few days is Carroll Shelbys personal 452 cobra! He owned it front the day it was built until his death in 2016! Thats sure to become one of the worlds most expensive cars. Only 5 of this spec were made and the last one cleared $14m!!
  5. Agora missed a tick here, they should have built caroll shelbys own personal cobra. Anyway, its up for sale at the Mecum auctions in florida on Jan 15th. Who wants to guess what it might go for? I reckon it will fetch way more than the super snake and probably become one of the most expensive cars on the planet.
  6. I'm having trouble getting the retaining pins to stay clipped in place, they just keep popping off and dangling about on the wires. Also one of the pins that passes through the hood sheared off trying to get the lynch pin to stay clipped on and now I need a replacement (hood pin and lynch pins from stage 87). Edit: i figured out how to get the retaining pins to work now but in doing so the other small plastic pin that goes through the hood also sheared so now I need both parts replacing each side. Turns out I had pushed them onto the bracket too far and they wasn't protruding through the hood far enough to get the retainer pin through properly
  7. Santa came early for me with a nice delivery of kits so I can catch up on the build - I was on the 2 year build but a change of heart (and wanting to start another build) means I will be finished sooner rather than later now! I wish everyone out there building and the entire Agora team a very merry Christmas. Enjoy it as best you all can despite all the imposed restrictions we now have across the country. We can still video call our loved ones. Stay safe all, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing another good year of models from Agora.
  8. One thing I would have liked to have seen in this book is a bit more text. More info on the car its self, such as specs, articles like you would get in a magazine, rather than just 1 or 2 little paragraphs here and there, along side stuff linking it to our model if that makes sense? Please don't take this as a negative as it is a beautiful book. I just would have liked some reading material along side it all too. One thing I like about partwork models is the articles that come in the weekly magazines, I was expecting something like this all collated into 1 large book all about the snake and our model
  9. Its here! Really nice book with some stunning pictures of the car
  10. Looks beautiful. Really looking forward to receiving this. Great work by all
  11. I'd love to get a proper display case for this model too
  12. most if not all the interior cockpit will probably be plastic. Most car models are like this. I would expect the chassis, suspension, body work, wheels, engine to mostly be metal. The suspension may not be accurate bit I would expect it to be working suspension on a model of this value. I would expect the exposed exhausts to be chrome plated metal too but don't count on it
  13. The hachette model has the same problem too. Filing the spring works intermittently for some people and not others. Be ware of the under size eyes and floppy fingers and wrist joint too and LOTS of plastic. Everything after the upper arm is plastic.
  14. I'm on stage 78 as I have been building this in the uk from hachette since it started. I can confidently say the build.so far is superb. The details are incredible..lots of tiny fiddly parts to glue, lots of photo etch detail parts and plastic sprues etc. And lots and lots of lights, motors and other cool electronics!
  15. That's would be awesome! Roughly 1/2 scale making it similar in size to r2d2 from de agostini would work well too
  16. Not sure if this has been mentoned before. There lots of models of the famous Aston Martin DB9 but what about the lotus esprit? One that can also convert I to the submarine in the spy who loved me aka wet Nellie. would be pretty awesome, 1/8th scale of course
  17. Yes it is the same model as hachette. Agora are acting as a distributor for this in the US.
  18. Nice work! I chose the 24 month sub so still got a long wait until next month for pack 2, by that time you will be in pack 3 haha. Is the fuel tank plastic or metal?
  19. I'd love a mad max police interceptor, red dwarfs star bug would be pretty damn cool too or even red dwarf its self! A NASA space shuttle would be pretty cool too. A detailed crew quarters and cockpit with ligting, and removable panels so you can look inside. Cargo bay doors that open, with a fully moveable canada arm, maybe a mini model of Hubble telescope or sections of the ISS to fit inside. Retractable landing gear, removable fuel tank and rocket boosters so you can choose how you want to display it - ready for take off, in space deploying Hubble etc or coming in to land. Could make an interesting build.
  20. The f35 lightning II actually comes in 3 variants: Conventional STOVL (Short take-off, vertical landing) CV (carrier variant) The conventional variant means simply that, it is an f35 in body and tech only, has a conventional engine etc. The STOVL variant has the lift fan in the centre fuselage and and swivel tailcone for the short takeoff and vertical landing/hover ability. The CV variant is the same as the STOVL but is iirc 30% larger (odd for a carrier based airplane to be larger) but this is to accommodate the hinges for the folding wingtips for under deck storage, and a larger wing surface generating more lift for the super short runway of an aircraft carrier. Imo the CV variant would make a pretty awesome large scale model, with an operational lift fan, swivel tail cone, motorised folding wingtips, cockpit detailing with lights, engine sounds - it's a pretty epic sounding aircraft when doing a short takeoff on a carrier, look for some videos on youtube. You could also offer a range of various armaments to make different configurations.
  21. Well my 1st package arrived yesterday, just 3 days after placing the subscription! Lightning speed! Had a look through the parts and the quality so far is superb. Not had a chance to make a start as yet as been quite busy. I had a delivery a week or so ago am from the hachette Bismarck build that I also need to progress with. I'm also awaiting my 1st parts of the eagmeloss Ghostbusters ecto 1 and de agostini ford GT bringing things to a total of 4 builds. I already have plans that I want to keep the 'stang pristine, weather the GT and build a diorama like it's in a pit stop mid race, ecto 1 we shall see what develops from the modders, and bissy is getting weathered up too. As a result I am also on the 24 months plan which now means my next package will march time, so I might wait and let a few packs turn up before starting to build. I dont like have too many loose parts kicking around
  22. There are quite a few star wars kits already available from other companies and you can buy high end light sabers with full sound boards, a fully working kyber crystal and blade choices from a fair few companies in the US for a lot less than what it would cost a partwork. However I would love to see more movie cars come along. Herbie the vw beetle could be a fun one
  23. Hi, loving the look of this model. Do you have any more photos of the prototype - in the trunk, the interior, doors open, the underside etc? Any pics or videos showing the lights working and the sounds?
  24. I only subscribed a couple of days ago and had an email this morning that pack 1 has been dispatched
