Stage 20, Mounting the steering linkage.

Recommended Posts

This is one of the more fiddly stages. There are a couple of fragile parts to be careful with as well.

Start step 1 by pressing the steering motor onto the central steering bar. The directions are a bit unclear as to how this is positioned, but it rotates easily enough for it to be accurately positioned later. Next, add the cylinder to the central steering bar. (Note, the side with the standout is the side that goes against the steering bar)

Step 3 is adding the idler arm. Secure the arm with a AM screw

In steps 4-6, the steering linkages are added.  Make note of the L and R parts, and particularly the location of the parts in the direction photo. The “L” is as viewed from the top of the part, not as it is presented in the pic. Next, add the hoses. These are fragile, and the straight section DOES NOT fully seat in the end of the cylinder.

In steps 7-9, the linkage bracket is added, which is followed in step 8 by adding the entire steering linkage assembly. Secure the linkages to the suspension uprights with 2 MM screws. Exercise care with the hoses!42.jpg.6d6692dc936f71d9c317417ab443f737.jpg46.jpg.b71f266043a534f9aaddae60c68fe71d.jpg

Lastly, the cylinder rod is added to the bracket, and is fixed in place with an EP screw. This assembly is then mounted onto the frame cover with 2 HP screws.
