Stage 11, Preparing the engine block cover, fuel pipes and hoses. 

 

This stage deals with what in more commonly called the intake manifold. We start by adding a lifting lug, followed by the water “pump” which is placed then screwed down with an EP screw from the underside. (I think this is actually the water thermostat housing on the real deal…)  (steps 1-4)

 

 

In steps 5-16, we assemble the ignition coil, and the distributor, as well as adding the second lifting lug. Start by finding the ignition distributor base, and attach the filter. The filter is a press fit onto the base. Next, pick out the distributor cap, and ignition coil. The coil press fits onto the post that is on the “arm” that comes off of the distributor cap. When you have this done, the whole assembly is pressed onto the base assembly from steps 5-6, taking care to align the tab and notch in the cap and on the base. (Steps 7-10) We now add the hose to the distributor assembly, with a dab od CA on the pin to secure the hose.

 

In steps 13-16, we add the distributor assembly to the intake manifold, along with the second lifting lug.

 

In this series of steps, (17-22) we screw the injector assembly onto the intake manifold, and add a bit of chrome pipework to glitz it up. These parts are a couple of fuel lines, and the oil filler tube.

 

In steps 26-33, we now add 2 more fuel lined to the injector assembly, as well as the fuel filter which is screwed to the engine block.

 

This wraps up Stage 11! Stage 12 deals with the final assembly of the engine block, as well as mounting the injector assembly to the block and adding the fan and fan pulleys.
