Pack 2, stage 7

This is another super quick stage to assemble. It is the transmission (gearbox) and consists of 7 parts.

We start step 1 with the upper gearbox, and the shaft cover. place the tongue of the cover into the slot, aligning the hole with the socket for the screw. Make sure the curved side faces down!

We then add the rear part of the gearbox to the previous assembly.

The lower half of the gearbox is then screwed on, and the shifter plate added. (Steps 5-8)

 

I am going to encourage you to skip the next 4 steps, and add the linkages AFTER stage 8, step 4. This is done on hindsight, as the parts are quite fragile, and screwing the transmission to the engine block takes some rough handling. I managed to break my linkages off while assembling this later stage....
