Pack 2, Stage 6

 

Hi all,

 

This is the build up for stage 7 of  the Corvette Sting Ray. The parts count is not really high, and it goes together pretty quickly, but is a taste of what a beauty the motor is going to be! (as if the fuel injector assembly wasn’t enough…)

***I will encourage you all to lubricate the DM and EM screws that screw into the block. They are difficult to drive in otherwise. ***

In steps 1-9, we install the engine mounts to the block halves, plus a bracket. (part L) Again, lubricate the screws!

Step 10 is screwing the oil pan to the right engine block half, followed by the left half. (steps 10-13) It is starting to develop some weight at this point.

In step 14, we add a large detail part to the front of the motor. This is held in place with 2 lubricated DM screws. It serves to cover most of the seam between the two block halves. Step 16 is “the inner drive pulley half, which is screwed to the plastic detail panel with an EP screw. The “outer drive pulley half” is simply a press fit into place.

Step 16 wraps of this stage with the oil pan drain plug. This is also a press fit.

Like I said, a quick stage! Don’t fret though, there are stages coming up that will take a fair bit of time!
