Full disclosure ... it took a determined though poorly executed effort on my part to break the part in question. I reviewed my past requests and have two instances were I lost a part and it was replaced but none where I've actually broken a part so maybe this charge is fair though it would be nice to mention a fee in the Agora Support section dealing with replacements.

So in the past I've requested replacement packs for parts that were either missing, lost, or damaged and they have been replaced gratis. Recently I broke a part during assembly and requested a replacement pack and was informed there will be a $25 charge and if I wanted to go ahead and order the pack. I replied yes and asked if this was either a new policy or if I did something. The response was "it's a charge for a damaged item". So is this something I did and if so it's the first time I'm being charged. I'd like a bit more info on this such as confirmation it's either a new policy or it was something I did and is the 25 bucks a flat fee for all future replacement parts?

Not familiar with the term 'in administration' but it doesn't sound good. I noticed they have redone their website and it now includes the T34. Their ordering system does appear to be down. I have some 'spotty' experience with Eaglemoss, still ... I would love me a T34/85 in my collection.

Please talk me out of ordering this new model from Eaglemoss.

For the record I wasn't offering an excuse for not shipping the display case, I simply stated that I was not clamoring for it as other members are. I can wait, though if my order status was completed for four months and still no case then I would indeed be a bit worried. I would request a refund at that point and take the funds and apply it to a custom made one-piece acrylic case (Is it true you have to assemble the top and sides of the case from Agora?). One final thought, not too sure how familiar you are with Florida, but that explains a lot 🙂

I have received all 12 packs and waiting for the display case ... but I'm not complaining about it. I check my subscription status and as long as pack 12 is still 'processing' I assume the display case will arrive as soon as possible. If the status changes to 'completed', and I have not received the case (paid w/subscription), I will make appropriate inquiries through proper channels (Sophie). Truth be told, I'm a bit behind in this build and don't really have anything to display yet anyway. 🙂

That depends on whether you signed on for a 12 or 24 month subscription. I have a another 24-month build and I'm charged every month but packs are sent every other month. My Bismarck build was accelerated and I'm about to get Pack 12 after 9 months since start of subscription. A lot of others have griped about delivery but my experience has been great so far.

Couple of cautions on the instructions. There is one step you should skip and one place where the instructions are flat-out wrong. In the first pack one of the last steps is to attach round links to the anchors. Skip that because in one of the later packs you are instructed to remove them (!) and replace with oblong links. The other area is Stage 132-05, steps 6 & 7. They instruct you to remove previously glued 3.7 cm guns and place them in their correct position!! Basically, they baked the build order errors into the normal build process !?! Have fun and success on your build.

You're comparing Evening Star and Mallard to a 'Big Boy' which holds the world record in weight and overall length? Thanks I needed a laugh. We could compromise and go with the world's oldest steam engine still in operation, India's Fairy Queen. Now everyone can have a laugh.

Just finished first four packs and here are some thoughts: 1. This is going to be a beast. I have several Tamiya 1/16 AFVs and this, so far, compares nicely. Can't say how much I appreciate it already being painted! Though I will invest in a set of NATO colors to touch up the bare metal hinges on the side skirts. 2. The metal/rubber tracks are awesome. Having worked with 1/35 scale track links, this is a pleasure assembling in 1/16. I laid the links on a 1/8"x1/16" balsa strip to level the center link to the center of the track link so it was much easier to slide the pins into the links. The end links are another matter and still trying to come up with an easier way to attach. I use a small hobby hammer. 3. A common theme in these builds so far are the unnecessary steps or our-of-order steps, here are a couple examples: At the end of Stage 15 Step 10, jump to and perform Stage 26 Steps 7 & 8 then continue with Stage 15 Step 11. It will save you from having to remove and replace the gun elevation motor. BEFORE beginning Stage 20 Step 1, jump to and perform Stage 25 Steps 3 & 4 and then continue with Stage 20 Step 1. Again it saves you from removing and replacing the hatch raceway assembly. 4. This build has many more save-for-later parts than any other of my builds so far. Keep 'em safe! Now... how about a companion piece?

We should probably agree on an era as well. Personally, steam engines have more appeal to me than diesel or electric. They elicit a certain visceral feeling with their belching of smoke and steam and moving parts. None are more impressive than the Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy. With an overall length of 133 ft. a 'G' scale version would result in a massive almost 6 ft model. Simulations could include motorized drive wheels synchronized to smoke/steam and sound effects. Shudder to think of the price.

Thank you for calling this out. This really irks me and is worse than the anchor chain link replacement which you at least have the option of not doing. With all of the instructions being online, it should be a simple matter to update the documents with comments or warnings. At the very least, publish addendums with superseded instructions. As is, the errors and corrections are just 'baked' into the normal build process!? Doesn't seem logical.

What Stage are you talking about?

I I'm at the same stage and contemplating doing the same mod as you. I think I'm going to temporarily attach the side pipes with the screws to establish a reference point and then, assuming the pipes run parallel to the frame, mark the edge of the side pipe flange against the header pipes and cut them. You will then need to make sure the holes are deep enough to receive the pins on the side pipes. This is probably the place to do the mod since the headers are still relatively easy to remove and replace. It's a scary one since you don't see the results until the very final step in he build. I don't think it would be a mistake though I don't know how accurate the non-modded pipes are to the original. It's easy to confuse comparing what may be original to how modern Cobra's and their variants are represented and at times I'm not sure which I'm trying to replicate.

Hey Papa, Thanks for the clarification. Fantastic replicar btw. I agree with your opinion that the originals probably had seatbelts only. Fact of the matter, few of us lived in that era so few can say with certainty it has to be this way or that way. Your photo of Carroll not-withstanding, It's my opinion that any 427 that has shoulder harnesses is not an original vehicle or if it is original, it was brought up to modern safety standards to be able to be driven on the street today. I believe that the model, as presented, employs an accurate albeit rare, after-market solution to a modern-day requirement. In hindsight, it may have been an idea for Agora to include a couple of options for the builder to decide which version they'd like to display. I've used more than my two cents and I'm not going to die on this hill so that's all I have to say on that. ☮️✌️
