  1. Stage 68 gives us the forward bulkhead for the promenade deck.

    P4050929.thumb.JPG.c67d96bc8ad24e566488c2dbd94c6b66.JPG

Screw the two connectors to the bulkhead.

    P4050930.thumb.JPG.072d1f2e0d4529de4c8637922fc2c142.JPG

Pay attention to the pins and holes that connect the two parts together.  These seem to have been overlooked in the instructions.

    P4050931.thumb.JPG.dfc82e1773a68fe7099b8ccd3dbb81d1.JPG

Screw the connectors to the bottom of the promenade deck.

    P4050932.thumb.JPG.d6206dacebadd046ca71efdcefe168c5.JPG

Now clip the pins on the bottom of the deck into the holes in the bulkhead.

    P4050933.thumb.JPG.2c3eb9dd270421df5491fa6587d7d3e3.JPG

The bulkhead looks like this from the top.

    P4050934.thumb.JPG.034342f2407b6aeae169f62f12ba3368.JPG

And like this from the front.

    P4050936.thumb.JPG.7ee3040781c711cc6a988bf3b4735572.JPG

Finally, screw the cross support to the hull.

    P4050937.thumb.JPG.0862f32be44b81aba060859425da5fb4.JPG

This completes the stage and the pack.  I put the foredecks in place, just because I could.  However, I don't recommend doing this as the deck clips in place and is difficult to remove without damaging it!

    P4050939.thumb.JPG.31692c9d59d852d8383872fa105e372d.JPG

  2. Stage 67 sees the start of the promenade deck.

    P4050921.thumb.JPG.d00936f58d82442e20675b7fd230be8c.JPG

This instructions tell us to start with the forward section of decking, but..........

    P4050923.thumb.JPG.cee4aea70f627800147922e1e8b746d8.JPG

Now fit the starboard side decking.

    P4050924.thumb.JPG.be9ca879a4c62deb18f17ac5f7d89734.JPG

And we end up with a gap, despite me being quite careful to get the forward section central.  Therefore, I'd suggest fitting the starboard side decking first, then butting the forward section against it.

    P4050925.thumb.JPG.e7dbcb2964589f019a10521777d03173.JPG

I did manage to carefully peel the front section off and refit it, but it was a bit nerve wracking.

    P4050926.thumb.JPG.b81da5d9d859c33192e414863a62c108.JPG

Now we can fit the port section of decking.

    P4050927.thumb.JPG.e36842056b173f98de4e9de7ddf663f7.JPG

    This completes the stage.

  3. Stage 65 gives us another hull section and we add some more details to the boat deck.

    P4050901.thumb.JPG.23c34bf4c2144749a4d2091b9f38a105.JPG

Take the two tan sections of pipe supplied with stage 60.  The first one is glued to the port side of the third funnel.  Apply glue to the pins on the bottom and press it into place.  I also applied small spots of glue to the back of the pipes to hold them firmly against the funnel.

    P4050902.thumb.JPG.2ba5e9bfb86a4e68961c3fc750fc645e.JPG

Repeat with the other pipe on the starboard side.

    P4050903.thumb.JPG.299e7c2e5ad780f42031d0e61e720af9.JPG

Take the pipe supplied in stage 63 and glue it to the rear of the fourth funnel.

    P4050904.thumb.JPG.b7cce4dd91786df2214e2eabd87d287c.JPG

Glue the ducts, also supplied in stage 63, to the front of the fourth funnel.

    P4050906.thumb.JPG.9ab47e921d6817c9d781938e989c2fec.JPG

Glue the two benches to the back of the boat deck, noting that they are facing forwards.

    P4050905.thumb.JPG.3f3598d440f67a3a16bbd000a9d344fe.JPG

Take the smaller wheel house roof and push it in place.  The instructions suggest not gluing this so you can remove it to view the inside of the wheelhouse.

    P4050907.thumb.JPG.912cf57eadef3244ef12eba84b8978dc.JPG

Repeat with the second larger roof.

    P4050908.thumb.JPG.4184cbfdde67a92a3eb0e0a7346c8833.JPG

Take the hull section and fit it to the starboard side with one cross head screw and one Allen screw.

    P4050909.thumb.JPG.7db4d39664c29a1c4eb202b4c582ef56.JPG

It looks like this from the outside.

    P4050911.thumb.JPG.553a13502432744b5e97d953aff0a6b1.JPG

Fit the bracket to the port side.

    P4050910.thumb.JPG.fb884552b09286e2f5593c81a082fde0.JPG

    This completes the stage.

    P4050912.thumb.JPG.5a591af10fc4f7ea4482cace4aa45638.JPG

  4. Stage 64 gives us another hull section, but we virtually complete the boat deck assembly.  There's quite a lot of work to do!

    P4050875.thumb.JPG.c18b9a73efe22ca4983c5ac9e8c8d534.JPG

Start by lining the aft of the forward superstructure with the reflective stickers that were supplied in the previous stage.

    P4050876.thumb.JPG.82b987c1b4c2be58627e85dabde33832.JPG

Remove the long white foam stickers from the two LED boards.

    P4050877.thumb.JPG.434b72dd80c3dff82d1fffb62496fdd4.JPG

    P4050878.thumb.JPG.0c56c26d23172339d97f27ed111b5e04.JPG

Replace these with the shorter ones from stage 61.  They should cover the middle 2 LEDs.

    P4050879.thumb.JPG.cbfc72b8a97fee4dabd395da0c4656d5.JPG

Prepare to attach this superstructure to the boat deck.  Feed the wires thorough the holes as shown.

    P4050881.thumb.JPG.ed19d0d13bd3ae4fd83df5f4de2b0cc5.JPG

I now hold the superstructure in place with 2 or 3 AP screws.  The instructions would have you do this a few steps later, but it will save the superstructure falling off and driving you mad!

    P4050882.thumb.JPG.42232a096967477b5b9a5b5a356e9484.JPG

Turn the assembly over and connect the lighting wires.  The smoke generator wires are left loose for now.

Connect the forward LED wire from the superstructure to connector J4, and connect the jump wire supplied in stage 48 to connector J3.

    P4050883.thumb.JPG.408f21041e673b9fff841322ab4f6456.JPG

On the middle LED board, connect the wire from the superstructure to J2.  Connect the other end of the jumper wire to J1.

Connect the jumper wire supplied in stage 43 to J3.

    P4050884.thumb.JPG.199ba0196e8e5d2b62cb563cb76154d6.JPG

On the aft LED board connect the jumper cable to J2.

    P4050885.thumb.JPG.374d277147fbd10b9d25f5877f29f4ef.JPG

Connect your test module to the spare socket on aft LED board and check that all the LEDs work.

    P4050886.thumb.JPG.3adfcdb7a831630c41faa4cf8adb4401.JPG

Also check the superstructure and funnel lights.

    P4050887.thumb.JPG.02d7eb532ca15a25c2a3edca4ee831de.JPG

    P4050888.thumb.JPG.edd8f08ddc958c575474d2b75d4ada76.JPG

Take the last foam self adhesive sticker and use it to cover the hole that cable 53A comes though.  Be careful not to cover the LED.  This is just aft of the square cover.

    P4050889.thumb.JPG.671f28b61f70de8464018385a95f75db.JPG

Now you can finish securing the superstructure with the remaining screws.  There are 12 in total.

    P4050890.thumb.JPG.5eef323c85ade8ca5af70167588ad5bf.JPG

Take the two sets of piping supplied with stage 60.  The first is fitted on the starboard side, between the funnel and the deck house.  The instructions say to glue this on, but I found that it clipped in place firmly.

    P4050892.thumb.JPG.d72c62afd4b3898494f17f129fab542a.JPG

The second set of piping is fitted to the post side.

    P4050893.thumb.JPG.625d44a7acbbceb69dcdebda8c48cc78.JPG

Glue the vent from stage 60 over the second set of pipes.

    P4050894.thumb.JPG.919330ad01156115d4b92d4e3abb39c1.JPG

Fit the fourth hull section to the port side and secure it with 4 screws.  These are Allen headed screws so you'll need your Allen key.

    P4050896.thumb.JPG.8db8b1a77b78d96eafa70f561c56fc30.JPG

It looks like this from the outside.

    P4050897.thumb.JPG.7fd10a3889b9aaa68d16f1e4f5e86934.JPG

Fit the cross support between the two brackets and screw it in place.

    P4050898.thumb.JPG.d48ea701b0178835382a2f16ee646f8a.JPG

This completes the stage.  This is only the front section of the hull and already it's getting too big to photo on the cutting mat!

    P4050899.thumb.JPG.e6b11c796986c18fc46c3e7af1be05b3.JPG

    P4050880.JPG

  5. Stage 63 gives us another section of hull, some reflective stickers and some other details.

    P4050854.thumb.JPG.30ba4167114cf965e6dfdca0b55e5dce.JPG

Let's start with the hull.  Screw the bracket to the starboard side of the hull with a couple of screws.

    P4050870.thumb.JPG.961c190c3c1a436e14ff82de5a32b723.JPG

Fit the section of hull to the port side.  It's fitted wiht one cross headed screw and one Allen screw.

    P4050871.thumb.JPG.7bd28e7892143c1228e0253424048907.JPG

It looks like this from the outside.

    P4050872.thumb.JPG.a13a9f834dea9df46b7e4020cd830030.JPG

Taek the reflective sticker sheet and remove the windows to make life easier.

    P4050856.thumb.JPG.45580382fa3cb05ed6860df7bbd166b9.JPG

Take the deck house from stage 51 and line the inside with the reflectivge stickers.  These are best applied with tweezers.

    P4050857.thumb.JPG.dcc9f1e6d688dc38ee79a8ac2290aa9b.JPG

Screw the deck house to the boat deck with 4 screws fitted from underneath the boat deck.

    P4050859.thumb.JPG.a62bc6bc5b9335d15955cb1e55b5aa8f.JPG

Take the third funnel and line the base with reflective stickers.

    P4050862.thumb.JPG.19149e452a9816ca671480894feea2dd.JPG

Place a white foam sticker (supplied in stage 61) over the two middle LEDs.

    P4050863.thumb.JPG.3da11e128829b7bb1f54e2def1ec9d52.JPG

Now we need to fit the funnel assembly to the boat deck.  Feed the two cables through the holes in the boat deck as shown.

    P4050864.thumb.JPG.8d5d039a6fc54bc0c150443c4be8739c.JPG

I secured the funnel to the boat deck with a couple of AP screws to stop it falling off and annoying me!  Connect the lighting cable to sockets J1.  The smoke generator cable is left loose for the moment.

    P4050865.thumb.JPG.738cc9000b6225cd37979ff334e68a68.JPG

Now connect this LED circuit board to the adjacent board with the cable supplied in stage 54.

    P4050866.thumb.JPG.7211959874c962e6da58151f01cc0bf0.JPG

Connect your test board and check that the LEDs all work. (sorry about the focus - I didn't notice it at the time)

    P4050867.thumb.JPG.f6cd209c3be95938907f91ba26a181e9.JPG

Also check that the lights in the funnel base also work.

    P4050868.thumb.JPG.c90218c25b5d1b473f6ac4ac4134e832.JPG

Take the dinghy tarpaulins and clip them on place on the dinghies by the first funnel.

    P4050873.thumb.JPG.eaede177d764d67d69a58718e64c81ff.JPG

    This completes the stage.

  6. Stage 61 gives us the last batch of lifeboats and some reflective stickers, etc.

    P4010802.thumb.JPG.c96b90a28c064c91063329dd7ed92513.JPG

There is quite a lot to do in this stage.  We will start by placing two of the white foam stickers.  I guess these are to block out the light from the LED as it was too bright.  Just a guess.....

Anyway, the first sticker goes over the floor of the second class entrance.

    P4010805.thumb.JPG.2ed4901c0e47704a88fc843634b7e891.JPG

The second sticker goes just forward of the skylight.

    P4010804.thumb.JPG.f24870e6bf019759b5688f4511cee79b.JPG

Now we need to line the second class entrance housing with reflective stickers.  First peel the windows off the sticker sheet.  If you don't do this the windows come up with the stickers, and are really difficult to remove without wrecking the stocker.

    P4010806.thumb.JPG.7f3a0ad96a9d222d8b49fdcef21311a3.JPG

Stick the stickers inside following the sequence in the instructions.  There are quite a few stickers, so I'm not going to show fitting each one!

    P4010808.thumb.JPG.ea501baf01c1a5796fe4b2fc796456fb.JPG

Push the entrance housing onto its mount on the boat deck and secure it from underneath with a couple of screws that were supplied in stage 60.

    P4010809.thumb.JPG.b10caa8983794e7e2a85c11c63ae03e7.JPG

Take the fourth funnel base and line it with reflective stickers.

    P4010812.thumb.JPG.47b2c8c72e152a1f14da605064c1b806.JPG

Take a white foam sticker and place it over the two middle LEDs on the circuit board.

    P4010815.thumb.JPG.70468974108fcddd76b790aebdab0a4a.JPG

Take the fourth funnel and the first class smoking room, and feed the llighting cable through the hole as shown.

    P4010816.thumb.JPG.e782d0b431f0d1bfc4a650a2cd60a475.JPG

Put the funnel assembly in place and secure it with 4 screws from underneath.

    P4010817.thumb.JPG.819c7d0adfa8a9e5f6e365e9b2937003.JPG

Now place this assembly on the boat deck, feeding the wire through the hole as shown.

    P4010818.thumb.JPG.03cf2d9152e9cc1f23b2ee216e80fed0.JPG

I held this together with 1 screw while I connected the wires and tested it.

Fit the plug in socket J2.

    P4010819.thumb.JPG.91e32e861b7db6e7ccc80c381d48e589.JPG

Now take your test board and connect it to socket J3 and confirm that the LEDs all light up.

    P4010820.thumb.JPG.fb64b5e213b51f5734242ab9a0525213.JPG

Check that the smoking room lights and funnel lights are also working.

    P4010822.thumb.JPG.15c263c6015566cad053fedb52035d9d.JPG

Now you can finish fitting all the screws to hold the smoking room to the boat deck.

    P4010823.thumb.JPG.055437ec00c67c4e94d5f36b1a15693a.JPG

Take 3 davit bases, 3 type C1 davit arms and 3 type C2 davit arms.

    P4010824.thumb.JPG.7874d99dee32fbd9f35890007580ebb7.JPG

Assemble these in the same way as before to make 3 sets of davits.

    P4010825.thumb.JPG.a9c5eb806401f2946accdebd5547145b.JPG

Take the remaining davit bases and arms and make 2 single davits.  Make sure you make a left and right hand pair.

    P4010826.thumb.JPG.5d61e36dfcd4d74457a069ba08aa1c9e.JPG

Glue these 5 sets of davits to the boat deck.

    P4010827.thumb.JPG.490c7761cf6db955e45046cccbc5edc6.JPG

Turn the boat deck over and fit the cover in the square hole.

    P4010828.thumb.JPG.7881240cfae08bea102aa3473d4c6822.JPG

Clip the tarpaulins to the cutters.  Don't glue them yet.

    P4010829.thumb.JPG.53429265791492c23c5e8b694f5bb151.JPG

Assemble the lifeboats.  You'll need the two lifeboats supplied in stage 50 & 52 as well as the parts supplied in this stage.  Clip the parts together but don't glue them.

    P4010830.thumb.JPG.9ae8f3c007772c0f7e5d0740652e0589.JPG

    This completes the stage.

    P4010831.thumb.JPG.fb161236862ffc1f14f10640c7ab86c8.JPG

    P4010810.JPG

  7. Stage 60 gives us the entrance to the second class area.

    P4010790.thumb.JPG.f66b0260ece0a5307e59be64026828ec.JPG

You'll need the etched window frames that were supplied with stage 51.  Cut 7 of the larger frames from teh fret and glue them to the entrance housing.  Just use a tiny amount of super glue.

    P4010791.thumb.JPG.a6a4be6fccd6bfb93b9f0b4f09b68f49.JPG

You'll also need the white grilles that were supplied with stage 51.  Glue these to the large openings (air intakes?) in the entrance housing.

    P4010793.thumb.JPG.f2588e180580d162cbcdeb38f40d7f7a.JPG

Glue the two side screens to the housing.

    P4010794.thumb.JPG.1a960f771969cc6658805f2b4537148f.JPG

    P4010795.thumb.JPG.1beaa287361deabc129599d086206956.JPG

Peel the backing paper off the decking and stick this to the top of the housing.

    P4010796.thumb.JPG.679eedf07507a71f276979f6a8a37663.JPG

Push the lift engine housing onto the top of the entrance.  I didn't need to glue mine.

    P4010797.thumb.JPG.e55df980fd3939466ced7ca68c7a349c.JPG

Glue the two small vents to the top of the housing.

    P4010798.thumb.JPG.e2de642e22fa5420dd3c6ea42c417c75.JPG

Glue the motor to the vent.  Keep this safely as it will be fitted later.

    P4010799.thumb.JPG.69710914723d6cf15ac45bde3ea77da4.JPG

Take the two benches and glue them to the boat deck either side of where the entrance housing will be fitted.

    P4010800.thumb.JPG.ca9b84ba1b1a2be0acbaf1e6861e807c.JPG

This completes the stage.  I've just placed the entrance housing loosely on the deck for effect.

    P4010801.thumb.JPG.d54aedd72c6f35e5d66fde8d770916b8.JPG

  8. Stage 59 gives us the lifeboats and davits for the port side.

    P4010776.thumb.JPG.f7ab6163b1dd93b268c605959b21cb51.JPG

Clips the tarpaulins on the lifeboats and push the block gear into place.  Don't glue anything yet.

    P4010777.thumb.JPG.a4446ad4577835d5dc3b2b7d3b5389fb.JPG

Fit the vent on the boat deck near the forward staircase.

    P4010779.thumb.JPG.eb92a21fa237627f4e9b1f081a11f0da.JPG

Fit the tall cowl aft of the vent just fitted.

    P4010780.thumb.JPG.37bf4acf5b2f491d7fc7fa7419657796.JPG

The remaining cowl is fitted on the starboard side, aft of the staircase.

    P4010781.thumb.JPG.3f658d416620dbd1a6ca6bb48b3ddef1.JPG

Take the three davit bases, three type C1 arms and three type C2 arms.

    P4010782.thumb.JPG.12eee6f64869b5a83e1ce59f03d4b8d4.JPG

Glue the C2 arms to the davits first.  These have different sized pins and can only be fitted one way.  The pins are arranged horizontally, not vertically.

    P4010783.thumb.JPG.5f12270efb150d00f3b6a26a50d5b023.JPG

Add the three type C1 arms with the vertical pins.  P4010784.thumb.JPG.a502b651fece5544cd68a2c99e7d7ccb.JPG

Glue these to the boat deck between the lifeboat cradles.

    P4010785.thumb.JPG.df0cdf104057dbcc9e9cc9a615d39099.JPG

Take the remaining davits and arms and glue them together.  Make sure you make a left and right pair.

    This completes the stage.

  10. Stage 57 gives us the 4th funnel.  This funnel was a dummy funnel so there is no smoke generator.  I believe that the funnel was added mainly for aesthetic reasons, but also served as the vent for the galley and some other incidental uses.

    P3310750.thumb.JPG.d043da08f98694b03229db2ddb227af4.JPG

Wrap the the funnel plating around the interior and fix it with six small screws.  Check the photo to see which holes the screws should go in.

    P3310751.thumb.JPG.d1c438bfb96d16c4209a7f513cbf0361.JPG

Fit the stay collar over the funnel top.  The details side of the stay collar goes to the top, so you can only see the plain side in the photo below.

Glue the whistle pipe to the forward water pipe.

    P3310756.thumb.JPG.a3a3695920e0cdaa51f68783523783f8.JPG

Glue this assembly to the funnel.  You may actually find it wasier to glue the water pipe to the funnel first, then glue the whistle pipe to the water pipe.

    P3310757.thumb.JPG.766ecbc787be120e3c7845da62921f1c.JPG

Glue the ladder to the funnel.

Place the funnel interior in the funnel.

    P3310760.thumb.JPG.e2a0ef09762cf0cb95ff229b5ac36c43.JPG

Now place the funnel cap on the top of the funnel.  The instructions advise not gluing it.  Not sure why, but best just hold it in place with masking tape, or just leave it in the parts box for now.

    P3310761.thumb.JPG.2a509d2d0ea5db68b0b58a6465c22d4f.JPG

Finally, screw the funnel to the funnel base that was assembled in stage 56.

    P3310762.thumb.JPG.a1fe8db9af2c3bd184a0c541cc96461a.JPG

    This completes the stage.

  11. Stage 13B gives us the remaining parts for the easy assembly front wheel.

  12. Stage 13A gives us the remaining parts to complete the first wheel.

    P20307172.thumb.JPG.1b49004f18484d23e2ddea81f4f4da7e.JPG

This instructions say to apply pieces of double sided tape in the recesses of the central ring to hold the spokes.  I couldn't get on with that at all, so small balls of Blu Tack were used.  These work well and are much easier to apply.  The dimples are just where I pushed them in with a cocktail stick.

    P20407312.thumb.JPG.5de3556085564f0bea061b557dc73b1b.JPG

Turn the wheel over and apply a couple of pieces of double sided tape to hold the last piece of the hub in place.  This tape allows the hub to rotate a little as you fit the spokes.

    P20407322.thumb.JPG.c7c5f640d4a867906907563a9f5f68d3.JPG

Remove the backing strip and push the last piece of hub in place.

    P20407332.thumb.JPG.a74fdafb29664fb851eef6020d3076f7.JPG

Insert the spokes through the bottom row of holes in the hub and feed them through the gap in the spokes to the right.  The first two spokes are shown below.

    P20407362.thumb.JPG.30b49680886e61842141cdc74d1fc8e9.JPG

Bed the ends of the spokes in the Blu Tack.

    P20407382.thumb.JPG.5270bbacb5744b8edaad4d9f8d598bce.JPG

    Repeat with all twelve spokes.

    P20407392.thumb.JPG.4512b5c2673e14395ee0d65bfd56cb69.JPG

Repeat the process to complete the last row of spokes.  These go in the upper row of holes in the hub, and the spokes swing to the left rather than the right.

    P20407402.thumb.JPG.7dc77bd3c53e3634860ca195708510fc.JPG

The wheel looks like this from the back.

    P20407412.thumb.JPG.3300613e865ec7d09ed93a020899d115.JPG

Fit the central ring to the inner rim.  This just pushes on.

    P20407432.thumb.JPG.2d4995be008f483ee1b9fbc005e99aa8.JPG

Note that the tab on the rim lines up with a corresponding slot.

    P20407442.thumb.JPG.4578c76a05e48a5852c756df77d7d095.JPG

Put the inner rim in place and secure with three screws.  Make sure that the spokes are all held in the grooves in the rim and haven't jumped out of place.

    P20407452.thumb.JPG.69f6bb988db7f4ca0dda5fe45a94dd4a.JPG

Insert the 4 KM screws loosely at the moment.

    P20407462.thumb.JPG.fec54d941ecbbfc51c52e0effd4a5eb4.JPG

These screws are used to tighten the spokes.  Tighten them down evenly, 1 turn at a time until the spokes are tight.  You may notice that the ends of the spokes are now all tight against the inside of the hub, whereas they aren't in the photo above.

    P20407472.thumb.JPG.14094146a8315484bb9cee1ab2bf2c20.JPG

Now I fitted the tyre valve to complete the wheel.

    P20407482.thumb.JPG.e2840c5c707a3363a97c8163969c7a17.JPG

Here's the regular and simple wheels side by side so you can see the difference.

  13. Stage 12B gives us the first parts of the wheel with the easy spokes.

    P12705792.thumb.JPG.b3d49707710cb8106a796fe9726cfc9f.JPG

Take the two parts of the hub and fit them together.

    P12705802.thumb.JPG.bae3f2aab492e1c8838e18da9fe3ebb4.JPG

They are screwed together with 4 screws.

    P12705822.thumb.JPG.dc19d9280fb965b0f0672707eb2d0822.JPG

Place the first set of spokes on the hub.

    P12705862.thumb.JPG.6e561ab743b338a3122e2566f9eb5783.JPG

Take the smallest part of the hub and screw this in place to secure the first set of spokes.

    P12705872.thumb.JPG.b7eda20787b00f792c0d0a84494d09be.JPG

Place the second set of spokes on the bottom of the hub.  The ends of these spokes should be roughly in the middle of the gaps in the ends of the first spokes.  You may find they line up better if you turn the spokes through 1/3 of a turn.  In any case, they will need bending to fit the rim.

    P12705842.thumb.JPG.f27135b598f3236f9adc4d0139985a46.JPG

Take the largest part of the hub and use this to secure the second set of spokes.  This is fitted with 3 screws.

    P12705882.thumb.JPG.f582229508d3faf936b3eb58be5a5203.JPG

Take the central ring and push the ends of the spokes into the holes.  You will need to bend the spokes to get them to line up, but they do bend easily.

    P12705892.thumb.JPG.17af610c70902f9df0fa53722e2223b8.JPG

    This completes the stage.

  14. Stage 12A gives us the first parts for the front left wheel.

    P20207022.thumb.JPG.0350afc1e7dfb36dd2825e0ad55b9c99.JPG

The instructions start by fitting the tyre valve, but I left this to the end of the wheel assembly.

Fit the outer rim onto the jig, ensuring that the pin on the jig goes inteh hole in the rim.

    P20207042.thumb.JPG.75277282e0cc31b7d7f01ecc83965b19.JPG

Take 24 small pieces of double sided tape and stick them inside the rim.  Then remove the backing paper.  These will hold the spokes while you assemble the wheel.

    P20207052.thumb.JPG.773ab11668d873776efd3343f6c24eb1.JPG

Fit the first part of the hub in the centre of the jig.  Again, there is a pin to locate this.

    P20207062.thumb.JPG.4d897f1ef1163029f29c7f144e138681.JPG

Take a spoke type 2 (The type 1 spokes look like an elongated U.  The type 2 spokes look like and elongated S) and insert if through the lowest hole in the hub.  Then place it in the appropriate notch in the rim and press it onto the tape.

    P20207072.thumb.JPG.07f39b852792d543c19fde019f054195.JPG

Repeat this with another 11 spokes to complete the first row of spokes.

    P20207082.thumb.JPG.6b6600f0feb72e8236a2dbc1f215f28d.JPG

Now we need to complete the next row of spokes.  This is done in the same manner with type 2 spokes, but these are inserted in the 3rd row of holes from the bottom of the hub.  They lean clockwise rather than anti-clockwise.

    P20207092.thumb.JPG.de8ec6e5a9e2748f57275bf308fe86b4.JPG

Now place the central ring on the rim to hold the spokes in place.  This is secured with 3 screws.

    P20207102.thumb.JPG.cafbc5565ed5a2c8c0568d9ff0b48e63.JPG

Note that the notches on the central ring and the outer rim must line up.

    P20207112.thumb.JPG.07f25929d82667a59a03f06825440df5.JPG

Now we complete the 3rd row of spokes.  Use the type 1 spokes and insert them through the 2nd row of holes from the bottom of the hub.  The ends of the spokes just rest in the notches of the central rim.  There is no need to use and double sided tape.

    P20307122.thumb.JPG.3afe0c96fe13045e56f94dfc1b5a728b.JPG

The 4th row of spokes uses the type 1 spokes and they are inserted through the top row of holes in the hub.

    P20307132.thumb.JPG.9cc217a627cfb36557842868e24574ee.JPG

Here's a close up showing the ends of the spokes resting on the central ring.

    P20307142.thumb.JPG.a9aca695177a572fdd07b724ba64b08c.JPG

Secure these with the second central ring.  The second central ring has a peg that lines up with a notch in the first central ring.

    P20307152.thumb.JPG.b1e0a44899fb294b1d1d64077ad5c480.JPG

This second central ring is secure with 4 screws.

    P20307162.thumb.JPG.a1b9017c12e669caa2673e9961c5ac45.JPG

    This completes the stage.

  15. Stage 11 gives us the second set of valve covers.

    P13006132.thumb.JPG.75ad9b86b71e5b5c69066221462955d2.JPG

Screw the two valve cover bases to the engine.  The two covers are different so make sure you get them the right way round as per the photo below.
