I bought the standard street pavements them was are more for driveways. Here is the link I bought 2 bags and a bag of grout but decided not to use the grout. Two bags ate enough depending on your size of base you also have a few broken was as they are fragile but once glued down with pva there stack for good https://www.romneymin.co.uk/standard-grey-paving---dolls-house-250-p.asp

Hi mate thanks. its amazing what you can do with a bit of old MDF and a bit of paint. I'm very happy with it. Here is tbe link for the slabs. https://www.romneymin.co.uk/index.asp?function=search Give it a go the whole proonky set me back about £20. And it will really finish of the bus . I found using pva glue best for the slabs as its easier to work with

My miniature paving slabs arrived and I have started laying them to my base. I think it makes a big difference

Shortening The Steering Rod
Julian replied to Giddykippa's topic in Routemaster builds and modifications
Oh do mine lol 😆 -
Hi all, last week I decided to make a bus stop for my routemaster build so today I thought what a lovely day so I'm in the garden starting it. I drawed a template and just cut it out. A bit more sanding should do the job. I even managed to put a red fare stage finial at the stop. I'll will work on the flag over the weekend
-
Ebay £7.99 each I wasn't going to put any figures on the bus but I thought I'd put a couple in. I'll put the lady at the front and the man on the long seat
-
Hi again I also ordered a couple of other 1/12 figures (not Hachette) but I think they are pretty cool only £7.99. It all depends if you want to keep it original. I also done a fee mods on my bus.

Cheers mate

Yes buy not the ones above the cab I see how technical the side light is first
-
Yes and run the cable back with all the other ones to the front of the bus. So it ready to be connected. I'm also thing of wiring up the two side ear indicators.
-
Not your fault mate thanks for the link anyway. I would hate to see his bus build with quality like that like that. I have already wired the cable and tested it I have ordered 1.8mm LEDs should arrive by tomorrow 🙃 fingers crossed
-
So glad I didn't buy the bus stop lol did you do the side light? What size led did you use
-
Hi all if anyone is thinking of purchasing some interior adverts stickers. Think before you buy. I bought some online from a site Kingsway Models the quality is a joke they look like a photo copy you can't even read some of the print on some £5 for a 10p photo copy. I ordered some aswell on Facebook hope these will be better

Progress so far and Modifications

My mate had one spare he gave me it a couple of months ago. You know me couldn't wait so I fitted it lol -
Just a few little modifications I'd thought I'd show you. Firstly the stairs I removed the crews and replaced them with smaller pins. I have also painted the wheels burgandy. The drivers cab has been painted black along with the hand brake I painted that silver and black. The flywheel cover at the front of the bus I have painted black to make it look a bit better as most RM's where either black or burgundy. Secondly i painted the heater grill silver as they where either silver or black the differential cover by the rear N/S long seat I also painted black. I was also disappointed in the seat pole bracket on the ceiling which where always the same colour of the ceiling so I gave them a paint too it's not an 100% match but I think it looks better then chrome. I think they may of made a slight boo boo with these as the upstairs pole brackets are cream the same as the ceiling as you will notice further issues later. I have replaced the bell cord to brown as i have never seen a black bell cord same as the cord eye hooks I painted them silver as they are never black. The engine compartment I have painted the wires black (thanks Giddykippa for that idea) so they don't stand out to much now. A little tip use a bit of glue on the rear seat kick plates as the self adhesive isn't that good and they will come unstuck. I made a little advert box on the lower deck at the front which covers the horizontal heater control I have ordered a advert for it. I also replaced the heater control and put it in original place in the middle column I have also tested the electrics Lights, bells, sounds etc as once the bus is completed and something doesn't work it would be a nightmare to put right. Hope you like my progress and modifications so far
