  1. Glad it's not just me....I was worried I did something wrong.
  2. Thanks....this was my first time trying something like this. Actually, as this is only my second build, it's all brand new to me lol
  3. Very nice....I also painted the Spark Plugs on my Ecto build:
  4. I got the idea to use Mica Powders to Heat-Stain the header pipes on the Shelby Cobra. The first step was to paint them with gloss black spray paint. You don't need to coat the whole pipe, only the parts of it you want the powders to color. After painting, let them sit for about 45 minutes - 1 hour (you still want the paint to be "tacky", then add your first color powder (blue) to the top of the pipe, and use a small brush to remove the excess, then move on to your second color (purple), and when you use the brush, blend it with the previous color. Then just keep following on down the pipe. I get the colors I wanted, I just googled "Heat stained exhaust". Before doing anything to the model parts, I practiced on "chrome" plastic spoons I bought at Wal-Mart for a couple bucks.
  5. I'm in the same boat....I watched Wayne doing the HMS Victory and though "Well that looks fun" and ALMOST ordered one....and then I got to really thinking about it...I'm a HORRIBLE painter for the most part. And the though of all the rigging made me re-think that.
  6. Just thought of another one that could be interesting....Baby from the show Supernatural....complete with all the Demon Hunting accessories in the trunk.
  7. Someone else mentioned Christine....that makes me happy! I'll second that. I do like the idea of a large scale E.D. 209...hadn't thought of that before, but I like it!
  8. I have a couple Dream Cars that I know I'll never own, and would love the chance to build a 1:8 Scale: Christine (1958 Fury) 1970 Dodge Coronet SuperBee Dodge Charger Daytona/Plymouth SuperBird 32 Ford Flathead V8 Hot Rod (old school style)
