  1. Slight update. Due to some issues regarding my use of music in this video, it has been removed from YouTube while I fight with the company to show that it falls under fair use. However, I have a backup of the video over on Odysee. So, check me out there and be sure and subscribe there too so you don't miss any of the videos on my channel! https://odysee.com/@TheModelGamer:1/the-model-frontier-build-the-titanic:d
  2. Wow. So, after my first video of the Titanic build has seen so many videos, I decided to get this special video out a bit early. Now, this isn't a typical model build video. It's just going over the different upgrade kit options available out there. These options will really make any 1:200 Titanic model sparkle, so, even if you're not doing the Agora one like I am, these are still worth it to check out. Hope you all like it and find it informative as well. https://youtu.be/Fhn9Q7z9LsE
  3. Well, it's finally up! The first video in my upgraded build of this already amazing model! I hope you all enjoy it, and can't wait to share more of the journey with you all. If you're new to my channel, make sure to subscribe! I may be small, but I will definitely appreciate you all!
  4. No problem at all. The black is an acrylic flat black. As for the top of the capstans, I didn't use any paint. The capstans are from an upgrade kit, and they were bronze or brass cast, so I just left them normal. Suppose that answers your question about stock or aftermarket parts as well.
  5. Well, I finally got mine, and I put my upgrade kit to good use. Yes, I know there's more done here than just Stage 1. I had the instructions for Stage 8 already and figured, since I had the parts, I could do that Stage as well. But I keep it in order on my video, which will be posted as soon as it's done.
  6. The key thing to look for with any upgrade is scale. There are MANY different models of the Titanic. Amy upgraded you want to do for this model, make sure it says 1:200 somewhere. Otherwise, you risk getting parts that are too small for this model.
  7. Probably also has something to do with notability. The Bismarck is not as widely known as the Titanic is. I mean, don't get me wrong, the Bismarck does look cool and everything. But, let's face it. If you were to go up to random people and ask them to name some of the greatest shipwrecks ever, you're going to hear the Titanic before you ever hear the Bismarck. So, from a business perspective, if they can charge more, they're going to make more. Plus the quality is going to be amazing on this one. I honestly can't wait until May for this model to get to me.
  8. Of course it's done piecemeal. That's the beauty of a partworks model. You get certain parts each month, and then you get to build it and wait with anticipation for the following month's shipment. Plus it's a good way for them to get more people into this. How many people do you know have a little over $2000 to spend on a model of the Titanic all at once? This way, people who don't have that kind of money up front can still take part in this great kit. Still, if you're not a fan of partworks kits and you want the full model up front, you might check out the Trumpeter 1:200 Titanic. But, be forewarned, it's going to require a LOT more work than this one is. The biggest thing: you'll have the paint all the parts, including the gigantic hull section on your own. At least with this, a lot of the work will be done for you. Plus the Trumpeter one is all plastic, not metal like this bad boy is.
  9. One thing I just noticed, and I don't know if it's something that can be fixed on the model itself, but the lettering on the stern section of the ship is off. The TITANIC name should be bigger than the LIVERPOOL underneath. If not bigger, they should be the same size. LIVERPOOL shouldn't be bigger than TITANIC. Any chance of that getting fixed, or is that something that the community would have to mod?
  10. Really looking forward to this model. I was on the fence about it, but with all that it's offering, it seems like it's going to be worth it. I've already begun planning for putting this build up on my YouTube channel, along with some modifications I think will make this thing pop even more than it already does. It's just torture to know that, in Hachette territories, they're already putting this model together, but I have to wait until May. It's such a tease, but it's going to be worth it I'm sure.
