  1. arghh no that's proper annoying to be honest i didn't think mine would work but so far so good mind ive still got to fit them through panels and into the actual indicators
  2. to be honest i was struggling to find 8 different sounds so just cobbled together some stuff that reminded me of the RM
  3. ah thanks for the paint info tripple ive just posted some of my other mods in modification room
  4. i decided to make my own sound box with some extra bus related sounds including bus starting bus running horn bell gibson ticket machine conductor asking for fares and announcing stops and topped it off with the flanders and mol london omnibus song its secured to the shelf my bus will sit on and powered by a 5v 2amp phone charger see attached video
  5. I thought i would share these modifications ive made to the electronics on my bus i wasn't really happy with the function buttons in the cab apart from being tiny and fragile they're difficult to get to with fingers and also run the risk of failing if pressed too many times so i decided to use some external mini momentary push buttons i got off ebay there is quite a bit of room underneath the stairs and as i had already decided to move the battery compartment outside the bus ( making battery changes easier also ) i used that extra room i drilled 6 x 7mm holes for 5 push buttons and a on/off/on mini toggle switch i made some little JST plug extensions wiring in the buttons and then plugging the wires from horn, brake pedal, cab light running lights and destination lights meaning when i pressed each button it connected the relevant button from the cab the toggle switch was used to make the indicators work left front and rear and right front and rear ( see my post on using 0805 SMDs to run the front indicators ) if i move the toggle left nearside indicators flash and switching right operates the right side middle position is off ive also made a small sound box but i will make a separate post for that hope that explains everything enjoy the videos i made
  6. ah just watched on youtube apparently it pulls behind seat like you have it and behind the rear panel dropping out above rear platform
  7. yeah i have three N labeled wires with plugs 2 off the saloon roof and that rear stairwell led but my query is where that led wire is going to run to connect with saloon roof ? as its inside the upper saloon hows it going to connect cos the ceiling ones run inside the frame work there doesn't appear to be a way out for that single led yet unless that will be in pack 10 ?
  8. hi taffy it seems bizarre to leave that wire exposed when all the others are hidden i was going to do same as you and tuck it alongside seat and paint it with humbrol 100 red brown as that looks a good match problem is it's not yet obvious where it connects to est of saloon wiring i made same mistake lol had to remove that rear panel to get hand rail fixed but appreciate the tip 😄
  9. so im well into pack 9 but im kinda flumoxed by the rear stairwell light that sits alongside the offside rear seat ? does it just leave the wire exposed ? or is there some sort of cover in pack 10 as it's going to look stupid leaving this unsightly wire exposed and my next question is how is this going to connect to the interior wiring loom ? im at a loss
  10. cheers i must admit im kinda stumped as to why the model doesn't include front indicators as it wouldn't be that difficult to do ... im actually also making an external control box so i can operate all the lights and sounds etc without trying to get my stubby fingers inside the cab to press tiny awkwardly placed buttons
  11. I thought I would share a modification I've made to the indicators on my bus I didn't dream this up myself I saw a YouTube video someone else made of the same modification I quite like the idea so this is my version firstly I ordered some orange 0805 smd leds from China got 10 for a couple of quid I extended the wires using some very fine wire long enough to go from both front corners of the bus to the rear panel where the pcb is then I spliced into the indicators leds in parallel and attached the smds however that didn't quite work as the extra resistance from smds severely dulled the 3mm leds for indicators so this is where my version comes in there are 4 cables from the JST plug coming from the pcb board 2 red and 2 black going to 3mm leds 8 joined the 2 red and connected that to the middle pole of a mini on/off/on toggle switch the 2 outer poles I connected to the red cables of each leds the function of the toggle switch means I can now have either left front and rear indicators flashing or the right side instead of just the 2 rear indicators flashing together it wasn't a difficult job and it works great I've attached my hand drawn schematic and a picture of where the front offside smd comes to which I've just held temp with electrical tape the front nearside is similar anyhoo hope that all makes sense
  12. mine must've just been badly finished as they definitely wouldn't have fit without slight modifications
  13. Just thought i would share this with everyone i did the rear stair hand rails and found that the spurs that fit into the curved panels were too big so i opened the holes up with a little drill then used a spot of super glue to secure (see 1st pic) however there is a problem with the upright pole (see 2nd pic) the curved horizontal rail is too long and when you try to fit the vertical pole its pushed past vertical i had to trim a couple of millimeters off the end so it wasn't pushing the vertical pole out of alignment however that caused another problem in that the underside of the horizontal rail has a little notch that locates with a little lug off the vertical pole that notch was gone with trimming the length so the lug had to go too i used a very small spot of glue to secure the 2 rails together hope that helps
  14. with RML being a tad under 2 1/2 ft longer than the RM for the addition of 1 extra row of seats up and downstairs i bet a talented modeller could easily adapt the RM857 model especially if they had some extra donor parts from another model would be interesting to see ive seen somebody convert one into a recovery vehicle half RM half tow truck
  15. Love the passenger accessories like the shopping bag with french baguette and the newspapers really nice touch
  16. i started on the 24 month plan but couldn't wait 2 months for each pack so up graded to the 12 month plan no problem im not sure if you can just pay for 1 pack like that but you can only ask agora are very good at customer service
  17. So i thought i would just share a couple of tips re fitting the hinge stays on bonnet as they're extremely fiddly my top tip dab the end of the EM screws in some light machine oil (as they're screwing into metal aids the cut) in my parts the screw holes were filled with paint so i first screwed screw just into 61G parts to break paint and cut the thread so much easier than trying to screw all 3 parts together without cutting through paint first as they're so small its really hard to hold them together and get screw lined up and screwed in see 1st pic and secondly when fitting the bonnet to the cab panel trying to screw the screw in front the cab side your screwdriver is blocked with that brown coloured box fitted to cab wall again the screw is tiny and i had same problem as above with paint in screw hole ran screw through 1st with dab of oil then when actually screwing screw in i used a 1/4" screwdriver bit with just my fingers and was able to get screw in straight hope that helps peeps
  18. that looks amazing well done you done a brilliant job you even did route blinds and registration
  19. yeah seems really odd they left that one out when they lit the drivers side one top tip if you get a pre-wired 0805 SMD LED there's plenty of room to fit it between the inner saloon panel and outer facing panel
  20. do you mean the number 11 route box above the bonnet ? i saw a pic julian put up where someone removed the plastic behind so that light could shine through the 11 though having that lit is prototypical of the real bus it would be so easy to mess it up however i did fit an led to the sidelight above the bonnet on mine i just cut into the green and red cable feeding the nearside headlights but for the canopy route number you could splice into the lower saloon interior lighting wiring
  21. i did consider doing that but that bonnet hinge assembly does look fiddly and i didn't want to risk not being able to get at it properly or breaking something whilst trying to get it on so just decided to wait till pack 7
  22. definitely know what you mean it feels like an age since pack 6 lol only about another 12 days to pack 7 i just want to get bonnet fixed saloon floor down and rear platform on
  23. i think agora saw this as a very popular model and decided to re produce it licensed by hachette and TFL where normally they design there own 1:8 scale models the good thing about agora is you get 12 shipments as opposed to hachettes 130
  24. yes exactly the same model except for the extras that hachette did like the passengers and large bus destination blind plaque
