So I've been thinking about this and I may have a solution. I think I will put glue inside the hole on the other half of the case where the shaft goes. Then while preventing it from falling through I'll hold it in place while I put the 2 halves together. I don't think the shaft has to rotate when the gear turns. Any thoughts from the peanut gallery?
2 other possibilities
1. Glue the shaft to the cog, making sure it is flush on the outside where the motor goes, or
2. attach the motor first, then put the case together.
Update:
I attached the motor first, then put the shaft in.... made sure the larger gear and lever were aligned properly and closed up the case. Tested the operation and it's working just fine. The motor doesn't seem to be in the way when I will go to install everything to the gun. That's the tricky part anyway. All that detail on the deck. Yikes!

I’m still a couple of weeks away from the crane work, but I always watch Wayne’s build videos as he always finds solutions to any problems before I get to them. 🙂
I watched his crane video (might have been the first Bismarck) and as I recall he had a frustrating time with them also.

I never thought to grease the gears. Was there any mention of that during the build and I just missed it? I doubt if I go back and grease all the gears now. Some can't even be reached anymore.

Thanks! I did turn it around, because it made sense, but I haven't tested it yet.

Has anyone that has reached stage 124, the rear anchor assembly, had an issue with the stop switch. When I put it in place and attach the cover, the switch falls out. Looking at it closer, there is a small black 'knob' on the switch which looks like it should fit in the hole on the bottom, preventing it from falling out. But then based on the pictures, the switch will be upside down.
Update: I found a couple of videos on YouTube and the switch was put in the other way around, opposite the PDF picture. This allows the 'knob' on the switch to rest in the hole on the bottom, preventing the switch from sliding out. I don't think the direction of the switch matters in the operation of the anchor.
Any thoughts out there?

If you are behind the build, you can request to have packs sent that are available. You will have to pay for them.

Yea. Today is day 11 after my last payment and pack 10 still hasn't shipped. Seriously thinking about not doing another build now. This is ridiculous.

I'm glad I didn't have any problems with the Bismarck. I never thought to use oil, but I haven't had any break on me. Thankfully!! I will start using this technique for the rest of the build though.

That's what I was told last week for pack 10. I already have 11 and 12. Still hasn't shipped.
-
I have no idea what the letters mean. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. I do know the silver screws are used on the hull.

Good!
I'm waiting on Pack 10. You can only do so much with 11 and 12 in hand, without having pack 10 completed. It was paid for on the 15th, and here it is 9 days later and it hasn't shipped yet. Maybe it shipped and I didn't get an email.

Yes they are supposedly shipping from Florida, but my last few shipments came from UK. It takes about 10 days.
Have fun with the build. I have enjoyed it a lot. I'm already debating with myself which one to build next.

I've already received mine. I was supposed to get pack 10 and 11 together, but they sent packs 11 and 12. Now I'm sitting her waiting for pack 10 to ship. My build is at a standstill. I've done about all I could in 11 and 12.

Hi, we do ship from the US for orders in the US for almost every model and every pack. Please contact us so we can review your subscription and check why this might be for you. Thanks
I'm waiting for Pack 10 now. It was not shipped with Pack 11 when it was supposed to be. I got Pack 11 and 12 instead. Sophie said it would ship maybe Friday (yesterday) from FL., but no word yet. As far as the other packs are concerned, several of mine have come from the UK. I don't know why.
-
Or stop shipping to the USA from UK. I received an email last Friday from DPD-UK that my order has been dispatched. When I track the parcel, it says 'We have your parcel and it's on its way to our depot'. That has been the status since Friday, 5 days ago. Why they don't ship from Ft Lauderdale I have no clue.
I'm thinking about doing another build but this shipping from the UK is for the birds. It might be a deal breaker.

I didn't grease any gears up to this point. I am going to do that. Hope it helps.

Anyone else have noisy 15cm guns when they are turning? Much louder than the Anton and Bruno.

When I originally tested the first electrics in Pack 2, everything worked fine. So here I am about to start Pack 8 and I decided to test them again. Now for some reason the bow light doesn't work. The light is not conducting through the fiber optic cable. Can fiber optic cable go bad? I checked the orientation of the cable to the LED and it is fine.

My stage 40 package was missing the searchlight cable as well. Sounds like a production flaw. Anyway, I am getting a replacement stage 40 later when my Pack 5 ships. (I was in no hurry)
Main Gun Not Elevating

I just found out that Anton is not elevating. I haven't tried the others again.
Update: Anton elevates now. I had to take the motor off and check it. It was working. I then manually rotated the gearbox and I noticed it was catching on something. So I took the one brace off and took the cover off. After playing with the gears briefly and seeing the lever was catching on the small drive gear, I found out that the large gear was not tightened down completely. Problem solved. Put it all back together and it tested fine.
