  1. Nothing stupid about it, @DaneMB - that's what the forum is all about! I was initially nervous about filing, as all other parts have fit perfectly, and I didn't know for sure if I would ruin the surface. There are lots of plastic bits on sprues in Pack 3, which could screw up their finishes if badly filed.

Use a small file or sandpaper.

Just a few milimeters to break the edges.

Yep; same thing I did. Haven't received Pack 3 yet myself. Noticed it during test fitting back on Stage  17 and mentioned it in General Lou's official build diary. Open up the slot on the left faceplate.

  3. I'd recommend doing a test-fit of the faceplate (Part 1-1) once both sides of the head are attached to the top (Stage 17-3). It turned out that, for me, the slot on the left side of the faceplate was too narrow to fit snugly to the notch on the left side of the head. Required a little filing to open it up a bit. I'm sure you'll appreciate it if you do this now, rather than discover it later.

  4. I'm happy that you are going with stickers (rather than decals) for the printed detail on parts but have you considered including a spare duplicate sheet to assist those who may get their first attempt wrong? This is more difficult than what other modelmakers offer (stickers already applied) and yet would not be offering any better remedy than the 'spare screw'. I already have MANY spare screws after only 2 packs of the T-800 because I don't lose them, but sticker placement is trickier to make look right and, if stuffed up, could use a ready replacement.

  5. OMG, that is amazing authenticity when you consider that no other vehicle would ever have been fitted with these 'test' tires/tyres! Might as well throw out the mold/mould when you get all the Super Snakes made!

Hi to all the users of this Agora forum,

I was thinking, maybe it's an idea to bring a Cobra Daytona.

The Daytona is one of the most iconic racing cars of America,

the only U.S. car who has won at Le Mans, and with this coupe the Shelby

Cobra circle is almost round, GT 500, Cobra 427, just missing the GT 350

    and the Cobra Daytona Coupe.

I fear going with that too early on may result in Agora being thought of as "The Shelby model makers" only.

  7. So, Pack 2 of the Terminator T-800 was still sent from the UK; but you know what?:-

    1. Agora sent me the tracking code from Royal Mail on 15 June
    2. The tracking code was available in the Auspost app, so I could follow it like all my usual Australian shipments
    3. The pack was delivered on 25 June; so just 10 days to be shipped from UK to Australia at no charge (as promised at signup for Australian customers)
    4. The contents were intact and not obviously damaged by the distance travelled

It's taken longer than that to get a delivery of wine from the same State in this country lately. I can only commend Agora Models for ensuring that subscribers get their packs shipped regardless of the intended source warehouse during this pandemic. Can't be cheap to do, but these are the sort of promises that led me to go 'all-in' on subscribing for an expensive project as a diversion from all the chaos in the world.

And now to hear that Agora are looking at strengthening their shipping boxes where other postal services treat them badly, I'm happy to leave the decision of which country ships my next T-800 Pack for Agora to choose. I feel they've got my back (you do, don't you?).

Thanks for this suggestion, Mark. I've been able to find an Australian distributor of Draper tools, and an in-stock supplier for the driver set on eBay. Currently have an offer in to buy at Recommended Retail - awaiting response.

Latest update - I bought the Draper tool 6-piece Extra Long Precision set via Ebay for around AUD $24, even though the product is available in Australia at a Recommended Retail of AUD $11.31. Suppliers don't keep it in stock much, and shipping from the distributors makes it more around what I've had to pay. More angst than it's worth to try chasing up the product at RRP.

  9. Hi folks,

Thing to remember is that the selection of charging option is important to getting value out of your subscription to the T-800 Terminator.

For me, selecting to pay by my Australian Visa card for the AUD subscription resulted in a 3% foreign fee (even though the charge was in AUD). This is a peculiarity with Westpac Bank credit cards, and nothing directly related to Agora. However, if I choose to pay through PayPal and have PayPal deduct the charge through the same Visa card, I can avoid the 3% foreign supplier surcharge.

My advice is just to be savvy - with Agora offering PayPal as  an option for the subscription payments, you may be able to save yourself a surcharge to your project and spend the same amount as budgeted for from Agora's asking price.

So glad to have these supported payment options in Australia!

Thanks, tinkertoo but I have heaps of options for shorter length ph00 drivers (and one in current possession), so that wasn't the question. As to the second idea of long length socket driver bits, I can't imagine that a set of ¼" socket bits was what was intended as the addition to my model-building collection suggested by the expert tip in the Build Guide.

No Australian suppliers found for Silverline tools. Shipping costs or delays from UK don't make this option viable.

  13. Need some advice here

I'm assembling the T-800 Terminator, which is primarily put together with super glue and PH00 screws. In Pack 1 on page 8, there is an expert tip, which suggests getting a PH00 screwdriver with a shaft length of at least 90mm. Where can I find one of that dimension???

I've run through many Australian hobby shop websites, and searched through eBay and Amazon.com.au - really only finding shaft lengths up to 50mm in the ph00 size, and only one supply of a driver about 170mm long which costs HEAPS (which needs to be shipped out of China). Most driver sets only go as small as PH0, which doesn't work. I've also tried socket drivers with extension bars, but that doesn't fit for Pack 1 Stage 4 Step 3.

If the recommended driver can't be easily sourced in Australia or other localities worldwide where Agora is making their kits available, then can we provide pointers to where the recommended screwdriver can be procured?

    Anyone ordered from Canada?

Mine says it left the UK on May 16th - when I track it on the Royal Mail website it tells me to use the same tracking number on the Canadian post website but this is all it says for me

    MAY 16    4:56 PM
INTERNATIONAL ITEM HAS LEFT ORIGINATING COUNTRY AND IS EN ROUTE TO CANADA
    GBLALA, UNITED KINGDOM

    MAY 15    6:25 PM
INTERNATIONAL ITEM MAILED IN ORIGINATING COUNTRY
    EXETER MC, UNITED KINGDOM

Hasn't moved since... and also I really hope there are no extra tax charges. 🤮

So excited to get started on this, I like check the tracking every day lol

You don’t say you’re checking the Canadian website for tracking your package. Have you tried https://www.canadapost.ca/cpc/en/home.page ?

I suggest this because I’ve been sent pack 1 to Australia, and the tracking code given by Agora works well on the Australia Post site. In fact, my pack is due to be delivered today! Currently drooling at the mouth in antici………pation.

…and now (4 hours later than my post) it has arrived😎 The backs of Stages 1 & 2 were coated in the residual adhesive from the original Hachette backings, and mostly stuck to the advisory sheet. It got all over my hands, and then parts of the other Stage packs. The poster seems OK, and I hope that this won't be happening in future Packs - it wasn't the best start to this experience, but I am eager to see it through..

I am sure that this is Shelby AC Cobra. A great choice for further assembly! I will definitely collect this model!

After looking at the gallery of the Agora visit to Shelby Heritage Center, I have to agree with @Dima$ that it will be a Shelby AC Cobra.

Pack 1 has been shipped. You should have a tracking number, if not contact customer support.

Pack 1 is coming from the UK due to Covid-19. Hopefully pack 2 should be shipped from Australia.

Customer Support gave me the Tracking Code  - now for the bittersweet experience of watching it wend its way Down Under🌍🛫🛬🌏
