  1. Yeah a quiet place part 2 was pretty good but the 1st one edged it for me too!

I'm going to check amazon prime and see if I can get it.Β  Do you think it would have been edited or censored though due to the ban?

Ahh Blair witch,to be fair I watched it when I was like 12 in the dark at home downstairs alone.wasnt too bad initially but that final scene freaked me out!!scary for its timeπŸ‘‡

    Β

  2. Random thread here, just wondering what people thoughts are on these builds (quality, problems, fun factor, mods ect) as I can't decide what I want to do next.  I really like both 🧐 but can only afford 1 build from them in my next subscription.

    Anyone built both?Β

  3. Ahh I see now, thankyou for explaining thisπŸ‘

Now I know what to look for if anyone says they have orange peel.Β

Yeah I'm torn between the 2.shelby cobra is so nice and it's my dream to own one 1 day.but I love the routemaster and all its features like interior lighting and the sheer size of it is (chefs kiss)πŸ‘Œ

    What to do...πŸ€”

    Thanks again laverdj

  4. Hey Marco

It really is impressive the scale.of this model.from your pictures I can see that it's bigger than I thought!

Nothing but good reviews from this build so far.well done agora!πŸ‘

Transformers was before my time and I don't have a special connection with it. Even though optimus looks awesome in so many ways I'm more of a power rangers dude lol

Thanks Christopher. Having built many Pocher kits over the years I am used to "tinkering". I always have a metal file, pick, etc. to make sure things fit properly by filing down certain parts and opening holes.Β

I have built many Agora models (Jaguar, Cobra, Mustang) and they were all flawless. But this one is not.Β

Now that fit of the front wheels has been improved, in addition to all the other issues mentioned previously, the back end of the model doesn't sit well on the body on one side. I will undo it and see if the fit can be improved.

Fair play to you, being an experienced builder you sure know what your doing with the modelsπŸ‘its good to hear the cobra was flawless!I'm thinking that might be my next build (maybe the routemaster,I like that too)

Now I have seen your pic I do see your frustration. How does this happen!?they test and build all these models before releasing them to us customers then your halfway through a build and the part is not sitting correctly.

I hope you manage to get the panel lined up correctly, that would bug me too. I'm hoping when you take it apart you find out what causing it to be out of line.Β  It's just annoying you have to do this in the first place..

  6. Hey Notsram

Seeing exorcist in cinema must of been epic, its just so classic and the tubular bells theme will always give me chills. Love the film alsoπŸ€“

Glad you enjoyed a quiet place,it is a really good idea and is very tense in places.let us know what you think of part 2 when you get round to it.

Interesting about ghost watch, what year did it come out?I've never seen it but might have a look.

Thanks to Wayne (The World of Wayne) I was able to significantly improve the fit of the front tires. His suggestion was to add a washer to the assembly. I tried a small metal washer but that did not work. Then in my bin of spare parts from other builds, I found a washer made of soft plastic/rubber and that did the trick.Β

Can't disagree with you - no end of problems with this model - orange peel paint, bad fit of main body panels, etc

That is a shame you have had problems with the build, same as a few others on here as well.glad you got it sortedπŸ‘

Although I'm not building the Lambo I've found with Agora models that you have to Improvise and add a washer/different screw/maybe glue/file certain bits to fit properly.

I have had to do this on terminator and leopard tank...there is always something that doesn't fit perfectly.Β  Being a perfectionist I want the model to be the best it can be so can be frustrating when things don't go as planned...

  8. Yes having the same problem, but luckily i have enough spare tracks so im able to discard the faulty ones.

You can sometimes get them through the holes with more oomph or a tap of a hammer but then It can cause it to be too tight with no wriggle room.

Did you manage to get more tracks and/or fix the issue?

    Hi Gustavo,

I live in the Vancouver region, very close to you, and I have a 1/8 scale garage, called Nando's Garage, where I build and photograph cars, motorcycles and even a boat. Check it out:Β (7) Facebook

I am quite busy right now, but later on, in the beginning of the year, we can try to work out something and I can build your 917 in my Garage.

    cheers,

    Nando

Just had a nosey at your 1/8 scale garage Nando,Β  impressive dude, that's a kool setup and nice features.

  10. Small world indeed!I know mill hill and Edgware quite well.Β  Same as you left the mad house rat race in north London in 2014 after graduating uni and now live in suffolk.

Suits me perfect, apart from some family and good friends i don't miss the hustle and bustle of London at all.

Hey Chris, yes my elder brother went to see the Exorcist in 1973, I was 12 at time, so too young to see it, but he went to see it in London and there were demonstrations going on from the church goers, telling everyone was cursed who ever entered the Cinema, just a little aside story that I never forget.

Anyhow here's some more suggestions for best horror characters to maybe oneday become models or not, but these are amongst some of my favorites movies, there's a very talented Spanish actor called Javier Botet who I believe is 6' 7" and extremely double jointed, he is in a host of horror movies, he played the Demon Mara, he was in Insidious The Last Key, he was Slenderman, and he played The Crooked Man in the Conjuring 2.

The Red Faced Demon in Insidious sharpening his nails while listening to Tiptoe thru the Tulips always sticks in my mind.

But a model of the Crooked Man, in his purple suit and purple bowler hat with his crooked umbrella, what a model and how articulated it would have to be to mimic Javier playing him, singing "There was a crooked man, who lived in a crooked house" and so on.

Mara made me jump, the brilliant director James Wan we have to thank for resurgence of horror IMHO, For characters such as Valek the Demon Nun, films as. The Conjuring, Insidious etc.

Going back to days of yore, American Werewolf in London, that scene on the London tube with the guy going up the escalator, and the werewolf in full transition following him up, I couldn't sleep for days after that scene πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

And to cap it all a very recent Horror which again is directed by the brilliant James Wan is Malignant, I never cease to get bored watching it. Old fashioned and modern horror at its best.

    Cheers guys.🍻

I didn't know about Javier botet, didn't realise he was in so many horror films! What a talent he isπŸ˜ƒ 6'7 too!

I agree with James wan, incredible guy!I love the conjuring movies too.

I lived one Road down from the conjuring enfield case (green street)from 2004-2010 .😱I used to walk past that house to go to school and college on a daily basis haha

ah american werewolf, now that's another classic, defo up there with the best!

Haven't seen Malignant, one for the list, will give it a watch now Halloween is nearly here😈

    Have a great weekend guys

    Cheers πŸ‘

Just for the record guys here's a latest picture of my Titanic standing as she is of today.Β

And today unfortunately I had to give up on the Tumbler, as every six weeks goes by, yes six weeks you have to wait! my patience has grown rather thin, with what you are getting, I know the cockpit has to be built but seriously way too much plastic for my liking and for how much it costs.

It was a difficult decision and I did not make it lightly πŸ˜”

But there was of course one over riding factor above all on my decision and that was purely financial constraints placed on me by my job, so I will continue with Titanic and Optimus Prime, both versions I hasten to add, and hope that this six week delivery window is short lived on models.

I know they do it to cut costs, but my time on earth is precious and I need to see a model coming together quicker.

    So enjoy the Titanic pic.Β

    IMG20231027215447.jpg

The titanic is coming together very well, nice work.πŸ‘looks nice with the bismark behind too!

Can't be much left to go with your titanic now?how many more issues?

Sorry to hear about the job and financial constraints πŸ˜• but its better being more comfortable with the 2 optimus and titanic builds than stretching the extra funds towards the tumbler also.

I recall you saying you were getting fed up with the tumbler with the 6 week waiting for delivery and also that it's not that exciting, loads of plastic ect.

You still have 3 builds coming along very nicely so enjoy it!πŸ€“Β Β

Now Chris, I loved how you bounced the thread, top move buddy. Lol.

Six Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark, the storylines are brilliant and the horror is horror, the one in the hospital gets me, mind you that would take a lot of skin to build it.

Also comes to mind whist I'm here is the Hellraiser franchise, Pinhead what a character he was, and in the third I believe you had the CD demon who's head was sliced in CD's, very cool set of movies.

To be honest Chris for as long as I been watching horror and I'm happy that you and notsram have an interest too, because we can put our minds together and come up with fab ideas. The ideas out of horror films could be endless.Β

Thank you for your interest Chris and notsram.πŸ‘

Omg how could i forget hellraiser!!pinhead would be an amazing build.could you imagine having to put all those pins into his head πŸ˜…

I watched the first one again a few weeks ago and forgot how gruesome some of the film is.

Clive barker imagination and vision is epic.

Thank you Chris and I will go to your thread too and pick out some.

I have been a horror fanatic since the 70's and I believe we are in a very tight niche here especially with Agora lol, And though I would love to see these come as models, I believe licensing costs would be astronomical, but down the line I see it happening, because the interest is there amongst us.

To your choices, Billy the Puppet another perfect candidate to become a model, I think it would end my nieces staying at my house though lol. I loved the Saw movies, just got a bit much towards the end as they try and milk as much as they can out of it.

I have seen Terrifier 1 and that is also a very good movie, and humourous in places too, especially in the diner in the restrooms πŸ˜†

Scream franchise also very good πŸ‘, with a mask like that, who could not be scared.

Nice choice also which notsram beat me to was Pennywise in Stephen King's It.

Well thought out Chris and a long with Leatherface, the choices are endless. πŸ‘

You said it Phil with horror being a niche genre. Wish there was more love for it😟

Licensing issues would be a big risk for agora like you say but if there is enough interest then we might get our wish one day.

Glad to know you have been a horror buff since the 70s.Β

70s and 80s had some of the best horror films in my opinion,my uncle said he saw the exorcist in the cinema when it released and said it was so bad they had ambulances outside because people were passing out loooool🀣🀣.

yeah saw has had a few meh entries but i saw the recent one saw X in the cinema and it was really good.they changed things up a bit and its the first time you see jigsaw vulnerable which was a nice takeπŸ‘

Great thread Phil, nice to chat about common interests with agora forumists.

I love horror movies. Planning on watching 'A Quiet Place' tomorrow evening... with all the lights off and the surround sound jacked up πŸ™‚

My favourite horror character would have to be Alien, but seeing as that's already been made, how about Pennywise the clown from the 'It' movies?

IT is awesome and I like the new movies but Tim curry IT was my favourite.πŸ˜…

But the new school It would make a better model.those details on his face are insane!the teeth are also extreme when he morphs into a more extreme IT😱

A quiet place is a great movie, defo worth a watch.interesting idea with not being able to make a single sound otherwise your dead pretty much.

second one not so much but still not too bad.
