  1. Hey Phil

I had a look at world of Wayne building the Lancaster bomber.it looks huge!but from reading the comments people don't seem happy with how many stages there are and also the build quality?check the YouTube comments and see what you think.I believe it's going to take almost 3 years to build 😮,

The Apache is definitely more space friendly lol!

I can't wait to finish R2 and the leopard is nearly there.I'm undecided if I'm going to take the leap with the la Ferrari or wait a few months into this year and see what agora pull out the bag.

The email said something about bringing a model that's not got 4 wheels and has a more interesting kind of construction/building technique.

    Time will tell....

Hey Chris thank you for the information on The Terminator. And very interesting too of what you say about the torso being heavier. I'm sort of 50/50 on Terminator on whether I shall build or not. Don't know whether you heard Chris, but I believe Fanhome are releasing Batmobile 66 very soon, that will be a Def yes for me, the ill fated Eaglemoss were due to release it then everyone knows what happened.

But Batmobile 66 is a must, right from my childhood to early 20's on TV lol.

I'm still holding my hopes high for Megatron, but how far away is that?

I'm not going to live forever guys, 💔 So I really need it all now including Apache AH 64. 😉

    Cheers Chris 😁🍻

Sorry Phil just seen this post from a few weeks back!

    Happy New year!!

Got the email from 2024 agora this morning!looks like they have loads in the pipeline for this year!a new limited edition Ferrari in blue as well as a road and race version (like others have said I think this is the 250 GTO)

The Apache looks great and also very big!I don't think I'll bite on that one. Space is limited for me with so many build at the mo.

Glad the batmobile 66 is coming from fanhome!great memories for you so I'm sure will be a fun build and hopefully better than Hachette tumbler!maybe save the terminator and do the batmobile and get your revenge for the tumbler!😄

    Cheers Phil🍻

I hate to say this, but it's already been done!  Comag released Amazing Dinosaur Discoveries about 8 years ago which was a T Rex build-up.

Here's a Youtube link to a review of the first mag.  Having said that, I'd be happy to do the official build if Agora were to buy the rights!

    Hi Mark

     I didn't realise there was a Dino build up from comag.1.2 metres too!Nice shout😀

But the official jurassic park rights to build a t rex from agora would be so much better than the comag.   Comag t rex looks a bit meh🫤

I'm sure agora could make it with a strong metal frame and ultra realistic skin.all with the bells and whistles.

Imagine controlling the t rex roar and jaw opening with the jurassic park theme coming from the base with built in speaker.

I'm glad you would jump on it if it were ever released.

Hi agora I want a full free kit stages 1-12 if this goes into production😁 I think this would be an awesome build.

Light up eyes, sounds and maybe smoke and movement from the mouth for the added effect lol.  Realistic skin and teeth😃

    Moving tail and arms/neck maybe?

You heard the idea hear first 🥹

  5. Hey Phil

Terminator is a awesome build, but the metal parts are the fingers, toes and feet, his head, shoulder joints and the actual torso frame. His legs, thighs arms, wrists, rib cage, neck are all plastic.so I would say about 50% plastic not too bad to be fair but the middle part of the model (torso, ribcage) feels significantly heavier than the rest of him.

I'm tempted on the optimus after seeing so much positive things but as I'm doing E.T soon I think it's the la ferrari for me next😃

Yes that's right Chris, it's the Apache AH-64 Attack helicopter, that's where I saw it too on WoW, though nothing's confirmed in time frame yet, but I hope to be in on it, it's a wonderful piece of military kit.

Btw Chris, I'm up to 94 now on R2-D2 😁

    Hey Phil

That's right I forgot the name (thanks for that😄) but the apache does look awesome and it comes with the scenery too which looks really nice.

I still wait in hope for the Vader 1:2 scale though.that would be epic!!

Ah lucky you! I got 87-90 coming in december with r2d2 so your couple of months in front!I look forward to seeing how you get on once he's fully up and complete. Do you have the app downloaded ready for use?

My understanding was that a new Agora model was going to be launched in the autumn, maybe at the Scale Model show in the UK. I haven’t seen anything, does anyone have any information?

Hi Mark I think they have a kool looking helicopter coming at some point.not 100%sure it's agoras though. I forgot the name of it but world of wayne visited a scale model show a couple of weeks back and there was one on display.

It's pretty much winter now so I'm.thinking maybe it's been delayed.

I'm pretty sure the lotus 007 car is the next model to be launched.if not the helicopter🤔

Hello. I am currently working on the Mercedes and so far it’s a fantastic kit. With that being said , a person could complain on all kits no matter how expensive or not. The Lamborghini is a hand full as the cobra was not. Myself,  being a modeler I like to change things a bit. My car will be black and the wheels I have stripped and polished. I look at these models as a great pallet and it’s a great starting point. If you want perfection look at amalgam. But the cost is really expensive. If you clean things up a bit on a agora kit, like sand seam lines and repaint, change color etc you will come out with a model that comes out pretty close to a amalgam kit but at a quarter of the cost. But some effort has to be applied. This is why if you look at an amalgam kit and agora kits, Agora kits are a fantastic bargain. And you get to put them together, your way if you wish. This is my opinion of course, but I do have a set of credentials. Certified bmw tech certified Shelby and f150 aluminum tech, corvette tech. On real cars. A special award winner at a IPMS national event. Second and third place also, So I have a little experience.

Wow I have just seen the amalgam kits.😲never heard of them until you mentioned in this post. Some of the models are like 20k!!!

Good job with the mercedes btw,it's looking like something special so far. With your credentials I'm not surprised that your ability to mod and make agora models even better is probalbly light work for you.keep it up, Awesome stuff Brudda.👍

Hachette did The Mallard and Flying Scotsman. If I recall correctly, they were based on a DJH model where you can get a superior kit for around £800. They were predominantly brass and were delivered un-painted. They were generally unpopular with train enthusiasts and kit builders as they were too expensive compared to alternatives on the market. They were also designed to be glued rather than soldered so you had to treat the parts before you could actually solder them. This meant that they were better suited to static display. The question was why get that when you can get a running model for less. Then you could also get a resin kit from JLTRT. I'm not sure who Hachette were aiming at as the concept had a bit of an identity crisis. To make it more viable it would have to be priced realistically as a static model or produced to fit in the current market as a kit build loco. With things improving with the likes of Accurascale and Revolution as well as Heljan and now Dapol making O Gauge, I feel that it would be difficult to produce anything that fit with what is currently available. I can't imagine Stephenson's Rocket appealing to many and as for G scale, It would be too big. I feel that something like a Japanese Shinkansen (Bullet Train) would have even less appeal. It's effectively an EMU without any rolling stock. That's before you consider it's just part of a unit. From a building point of view, I feel it would be as boring as the finished result. Unpopular opinions maybe but my thoughts and that of fellow railway modellers, builders and collectors.

Appreciate your feedback and see where you are coming from with your post.👍

Makes more sense to just invest in a proper railway kit so you can have all kinds of different trains and have it moving around a track with what you like.

As a rough estimate what do you think it would cost to have a train running around a 3-4 metre track with scenery and all the bells and whistles?

I believe Hachette did a Trial of the Hogwart's Express about 3 years ago....was really hoping that one would make it to production.  Nice looking train, international appeal, and a pretty dedicated fanbase.  I'm not even a Harry Potter Fan and I was planning on subscribing if it came to the US.

Hogwarts express would have been amazing!I'm a huge potter fan and have been since I was about 7 lol!

A train build would be a nice change from what we have so far.  Something completely new and I can't think of any other model company who has done one🤔

    Hello all.

This is also my first Agora model and today (November 2nd) I received my first pack (I'm located in Germany so apparently that is the reason I am getting my packages a week later than the UK. Although it was sent from a German warehouse.)

I was shocked to see that the absence of printed instructions is apparently a rule at Agora Models. That's bad. I have taken instructions on paper as granted. It was at Eaglemoss and it is at Fanhome, Hachette and Altaya.

So am I supposed to sit in front of my computer and build the model? (It is rather nice, though, that you can zoom in on the PDF document.) Five years ago I prepared a room in my house for model building - without any electronics that could distract me. So I can't even watch World of Wayne building it with me building simultaneously.

Of course when you study the DB5 offer text on the website carefully there is no mention of instructions. I noticed that but I didn't expect that there would be none!

Is everyone else OK with this?

    Steve (still shocked)

    Hi Steve

I totally get your frustration🤨I was shocked too as the agora terminator build had instructions, yet my leopard tank build I'm having to use my phone (really need to get a big tablet or ipad) to guide me through.

I prefer the paper instructions also..

I know lostark98 said about printing them off but if you don't have a printer then it kinda sucks...

Maybe we should start a petition to get agora to do paper instructions again🙂

  12. Hey 37401

Yea I saw that thread on the guy who has been waiting months for a part for the routemaster....that must be extremely frustrating..🙄

Yeah the miura has had many problems too which is a shame because the builds are expensive and agora are usually very good with quality control in recent times.

I hear what your saying about the cobra being a simple build, I like to be challenged with intricate parts and difficult placements of screws, pins, glue ect so maybe the routemaster could pose more of a challenge.

The IXO Peugeot sounds amazing from what you have said.  I need to check that out!

    Thanks for your advice 👍
