@ThomasJWGiven the numerous issues and faults with this model, I think the complaints are justified when you take into account how much it costs.

Personally, I've still not started building it and won't be doing so until/unless there are reports of it working as advertised. If not, I'll be returning it for a refund.

I am not discounting how much the build costs. What I am discounting are complaints to the effect 'my tank is not working ... some wires are not connected ... maybe that's the problem' type complaints.  Those are not constructive. As for modelers who haven't even started the build yet, well ... smh.

@AgoraSam Thanks for stepping in. I can see where this thread is heading and I'm not carrying this baggage into the new year. No further comments from me other than progress reports. Cheers.

  2. I have to bite my tongue on some of the complaints of late. Presently I'm awaiting my final pack, hopefully with pack 13 included. I've suspended my build on this since pack 06. Once I receive all packs I will probably read, maybe print, all instructions and annotate where steps are superseded or where it makes sense to do in a logical order. Once all my screws are tightened and connections connected I'll test it. I am giving the benefit of the doubt that Agora will have this sorted out. Maybe I'm naïve but I'm on my own quest.

A Ferrari is always nice, but maybe it's something else?  Since we're seeing the Corvette, it's obvious that there's a GM license in place.

Could it be the new C8 Corvette, maybe even the Z06?  Here's the engine, it looks like it could be part of the photo shown as a teaser earlier, and fits into the 'Manta Ray' theme, too . . .

I agree with LukasRS that's it's pretty much settled as a LaFerrari ... all the clues support that direction ... as long as it's a Ferrari I have no interest ... if you happen to be correct, my 2023 budget will need to be increased ... 2023 Z07 heck yah!

  4. So I've suspended my build on this since ... IDK when. I'm awaiting my final pack in the sub and hoping it will contain the mysterious 13th pack that fixes all evils.

If it does I will press on. No complaints so far other than the obvious. 🤐

  5. A couple of additional thoughts. I reviewed the purchase options for the subs I had/have and all of them have a full-kit option. A cursory review of other models show many have a full-kit option or the option of buying 4 or 6 mos upfront. It looks like the older established models have the full-kit option while the newer, yet to be established, models do not... yet. Also I have to take issue with the title of this topic, maybe should be "Full Kit Options Please". I want to keep my subscriptions. 🙂

  6. IDK. I really don't mind the subscriptions.  Finding Agora models on the internet and then later Fanhome was a complete revelation to me coming from a various scale plastic modeling background. I was delighted to discover the subscription based service as I can justify spreading out the payments over time for a number of concurrent subscriptions rather than plunking down $1800 a pop. The waiting time can be a bit ..challenging, but again, with four subs going there's always something to do.

Thanks for the comments. The spark plug wires are 30 AWG  1mm diameter that I purchased from eBay several years ago. The yellow tags are Tamiya tape with a thinned coat of canopy glue to keep them from unraveling.

I'm even more impressed these are from scratch! Amazing tedious work dude.

Just finished doing a mod to the remote case and so far, the batteries have latest OK.   I put in a slide switch on the side of the case and cut the red wire. One side to the common side of the switch and another piece of wire to the out of the switch them joined the outside contact to the wire that runs into the connector.

Very slick. You should patent it 🙂

    Standard price for their models £54.99 plus 11 x 99.99 = £1154.88

OK I never noticed that. My active Leopard and completed Bismarck subs were diff prices and my Cobra is over 24 mos.

Being that this model is on the smaller side relative to other 1:8 models, Agora could offer it as a complete kit ala IXO at a more competitive price.

As it is, I'm obsessing over what's under the cloaked models on the home page, I think the Red is the Stingray and the black one is a Ferrari ... possibly F40.

In any case, cheers to budgeting 2023 builds 🍹

I'm not going crazy with mods but a few things bothered me with pack 4.

The spark plug wires in the kit are out of scale, added aftermarket.

A few Meng nuts and bolts

Hollowed the exhaust tips with a Dremel.

Where did you source the spark plug wires from?    They look awesome.
