  1. Today I finally got around to trying to start troubleshooting my tank - agian.  After getting new replacement gun thing, I still have no camera.

I tried to swap out P and Q to no avail, restarted both the tank and controller in seperate orders, no luck. When swapping P and Q, I didn't get any new camera result, but hte turret motor did start spinning. What does this motor do (Q)?

  2. Camera STILL doesn't work (no signal.)

Sound board appears to only be able to play one sound at a time - so the engine is, 'off' when the tank fires.

    Lights are brighter now.

Gun barrel does go up and down now. Turret rotation does not work, but I don't have all of the screws in so that might be the issue there. Figured why @#$% bother if the camera still doesn't work and I'm going to have to re-solder the wires to the side of the turret and to the back three prong exposed copper things.

I have a few wires that have pulled from their connections on the turret, no doubt thanks to repeatedly having tot assemble/dissasemble the tank.

I do not have any vape fluid in, but I do hear the exhaust motors turning.

Tank does now turn and move, for about five minutes before the battery is depleted. Doesn't seem to have enough power to turn effectively on carpet.

I'm pretty disgusted that the camera - the main selling point for me - is still inoperable. It might be because of a few wires not being. connected, but that's shoddy programming/design on someone's part. Overall for the price point, I'm still quite unsatisfied.

Hope you all have better luck.

I am interested in adding enhanced details and welcome any photos to see where it could be done;. You are correct, there wasn't any aftermarket upgrades made for this model other than a decal sheet to add labeling to the switch panels, engine bay and to replace the side pod sponsor and white marking where some tampons printed by the factory did not line up properly.  Currently I trying to find a photo etch supplier to make brake disc overlays , like IXO has done on the 917K.

I'd love to find the switch panel decals. Can you please supply a link?

  4. I think from my limited testing that this may correct a great number of inherent flaws in the parts. I do think one of my main drive motors is bad, though - I've swapped it out on the PCB to verify it does work when switched. If there's anything I've learned in my career as a software programmer though - is that I'm more often wrong than right 🙂

Can't say I'm looking forward to tearing down and replacing springs in the turret - God knows I've taken that bottom plastic plate on and off more times than I should have already.

    But thanks, Agora.

  5. Are they proactively sending out replacement circuit boards/motors to everyone?

I have a pending email to respond to, they have asked me to verify some pretty basic stuff that I knew enough to do, but figured I'd reply with pictures/video in case that helped.

  6. @AgoraSam - to be fair, that troubleshooting guide sort of treats us like we don't know what we are doing. Anyone that has built this tank is surely smart enough to check for clearance issues with the vertical barrel movement, or too tight of screws preventing the turret from rotating.

The camera not working (that was THE selling point for me) and the electrical, 'gremlins' look more like circuit board problems/failures, and some REALLY sloppy programming.

I suspect Agora got a bit over their head with importing something that obviously wasn't prototyped correctly, and I do sincerely feel sorry for you guys for being in this kind of position. But for working folks, this was a lot of money, and I do not think it is unreasonable to have expected something a bit more better flushed out.

Also, where in the hell is my Ferrari 312? 🙂

  7. Camera does not work; display on remote says CAM POWER OFF.

Headlights do not come on, taillights and front yellow lights do - dimly.

    Turret motor does not turn.

Pretty damned frustrated at this point.

  8. Pack 12 is up. I never would have figured out what that camoflauge thing went to (hint: on the turret.)

So one has to remove the entire top of the tank to refill the exhaust fluid?

I'd assume the reason for the tub/suspension arms being plastic are that this model seems broadly based on the Modelspace T72 and they were plastic on that model. In fact, IIRC, just about the only metal item on the T72 was the tracks, and, I think, the main motor wheels. And the tracks weren't pre-built on the T72 either.

I had a LOT (see above) of issues with the T72, but I don't recall any problems with the plastic construction of the tub and suspension arms.

Holy crap you are right - that is what they are importing (brand wise!) Thanks so much, I thought I had looked everywhere for the source of the kit!

  10. Hey Clint, Agora doesn't really R&D anything as far as I can tell - they just import and sell kits that are available overseas. This tank, though is a mystery - I can't find it anywhere. There are other R/C models that are close, but this one is unique in the FPV camera (main selling point for me.)

The tub and suspension arms REALLYL should have been metal - especially at this price point. The tracks should have been pre built as well.

Anyhow pack 12 is pretty easy to figure out how to built for the most part.

  11. @Diceman Got it. I now have a working, RC chassis (Jesus Christ, they even make the batteries hard to get in!)

Putting it together, and I have an error. P wire inside the turret has come lose at the soldered ends. Now I get to take that thing apart and figure out/fix that.

The controller is easy enough to figure out without instructions. Also, those upper track roller end pieces came flying off as soon as I pushed forward, so you all keep an eye on those.
