    Thanks for the update.

    I've had no information whatsoever,

And it's been 6 weeks since my last pack.

I've made quite a few mods to this build which has helped give me more to do.

I'd need to start another 2 builds to try and give me more modelling time but spending 3-4 hundred a month  doesn't give me personally much of a hobby for such a large outlay. Even at that i wouldn't know when i was go to receive the other packs.

I've thought about getting a full kit, but it's a big 1 off outlay and the current models i want to build aren't available.

So plastic models kits it is till the postman knocks I'm afraid.

Agreed, sorry you didn't receive an update. There was a substantial time difference between Packs 1 and 2 for me, with Pack 1 arriving Nov. 3rd or so and Pack 2 Jan. 2nd, (I'm sure the holidays slowed its movement a bit) but the timing makes it difficult to build, where there's nothing else to assemble.

I received Packs 4 & 5 almost within 2 weeks of one another and then Pack 6 a few weeks later. I told myself I'd wait a few weeks and see if any additional errata's were posted after the door hinge issue with Pack 1, though like you, I want to spend time on the build.

I don't have the talent, patience or eyesight to do most of the amazing mods I've seen done here, the level of detail and skill is impressive, to say the least, but that means aside from making a couple of little floor mats from the spare carpet scrap, the project sits, until I get the next Pack.

So, we wait. Hopefully, the kinks and issues are worked out and the wait times diminish.

I have had a reply from Agora, which I have pasted below. Hope this helps.

Our experts have given us the following information.
Once you fit the steering column and then the steering column cover, they suggest you apply the steering wheel badge. This will then help you identify what is the top spoke, and you can then align the flat end with the column.
    I hope this helps.

    Thank you,
    Customer Service Team

Thank you, when we do receive Pack 7, this is helpful!

  3. I received an email day before yesterday saying there were shipping delays for Pack 7, the email was US specific, but I posted it in the topics and received a reply from @CraigThePlaguethat he also received a similar email to his region, (The UK). I would guess others are having this issue and received the same email, but haven't read the posts.

I also got an email, although mine stated "At this time, we anticipate that pack 7 will be dispatched in the UK next week." 🤞

Thank you, glad I wasn't the only one and it appears they're simply changing the regions effected, at least for the two of us in the US and UK.

  5. I was wondering if anyone else got this email, regarding delays in shipping. I know at least one of the folks who posts here has received Pack 7 already, but I was curious if anyone else has either received Pack 7, or this email?

    Aston Martin DB5 Pack 7

    Dear Modeller

We hope this email finds you well. We regret to inform you that there has been a delay in the shipping of Pack 7 of your DB5 order due to the current global shipping challenges. We understand how frustrating this can be and apologise for any inconvenience it may cause.

At this time, we anticipate that pack 7 will be dispatched in the US at the end of May. Rest assured, our team is working tirelessly to expedite the process and get the packs delivered to our warehouse as soon as possible. Pack 8 will be dispatched within June.

Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated. Once your order is on its way, you will receive a confirmation email along with the tracking details.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Support Team.

    Kindest regards,

I don't think the ejector seat is a problem, it's more on where you put your fingers when pushing it down. No reply on the steering wheel yet, or if anyone else has the flat sides ending up in the wrong position. If there isn't a response in a couple of days will try the contact us page.

Not sure where I posted about the steering wheel as it doesn't come up on the James Bond DB5 Official Build page, but it has been viewed by a lot of people.

I see, that makes sense, thanks for answering my questions.

It's listed in the forums below the main DB5, scroll down below the first 3 (Official build, Member Build and General Chat) and you'll see it posted.

From what I remember, the instructions directed us to ensure the steering shaft was mounted with the "flat part down", but as we've discussed, there have been some errors in the instructions, or confusing photos. Hopefully you get an answer, or everyone else simply does it and we discuss it here.

    All the best

I finally was able to finish the last wheel. I installed the rear wheels and the spacing seems fine to me... Did you mount the tension bars like on my picture (correct way as per one other forum member, can't recall who, pointed out) or like on the instructions (wrong way)? This might have an incidence on the position of the differential.

Glad your spacing is spot on, I did see that post too, and mounted the torsion bars correctly, from what I recall, they wouldn't mount the way the instructions said to, much like the photo showing the shocks to be mounted under the axle. 😆

Received mine last week and I'm in Australia. It's hit and miss how quickly they send them out after payment has been taken, anything between one to two weeks.

Thank you, any answer to your questions about the seat and steering wheel yet? Have you tried using the "contact us" venue on the main website?

Has anyone recently received pack 7 of the DB5?

I received Pack 6, 5 weeks ago and  I'm eagerly awaiting the next part of the build.

I'm still waiting, but I received Pack 6 3 weeks ago, someone in another thread received 7 and commented on an issue with the ejector seat and directions regarding the proper mounting of the steering wheel. Hopefully, 7 comes soon

    Hello,

On my side as I don't have 3D printer or putty, I just use part of carpet inside:

That looks great, and frankly, a very simple solution to the problem. I saved all of my carpet scraps, so I should be able to do this too! THANKS!

Hi Mike, I haven't installed the rear wheels yet just because I didn't built the last one yet... I have to be in a really motivated state of mind to engage in this... 🤣

I will certainly keep an eye for this potential issue. Thanks for pointing it out!

I completely understand, the 4th and final wheel was the easiest, but I had to be in the right state of mind too. 😆

I didn't permanently install them, (they pop on/off relatively easily) I'm not a fan of the tyre cutter and wanted to wait for the "slim" spinners, but mounting the wheels and tyre to the rear, I noticed this offset. It's very small, but once you build your final wheel/tyre assembly and snap them onto the rear axle, let me know. 🙂

  12. The more I look at it, the more I think you're right. The prototype images do not have this gap, nor do they have carpeting. It's a bit obvious now that we've talked about it, and I wonder why this wasn't fixed in production.

  13. You're probably right. A mistake where a part is too small to fit into its assigned area is a simple one to fix. Especially when it's in such an "upfront" area. Perhaps during the scanning they mistakenly used a shadow as a measurement. We shall see.

The undercarriage looks great, I wanted to ask you, when you mount your rear tires, are they equidistant from the frame? Mine are off, with the Driver's side being about a mm or 2 closer to the frame than the other (I think), and I was thinking it was because of the tension sway bar attached to the rear end. It's probably not going to be noticeable when the body panels are mounted, but was wondering if you experienced this and if so, how you fixed it.

Is it just me? Why there's a gap in the shifter boot?

Decided to 3D print a replacement.

Yes, there is a gap, I have no idea why. You seemed to get your carpet pads in very well, (looking at the seam in the shifter photo), and the printed shift boot seems to fit the car much better. I have no idea why the part fits this way, I am hoping it's by design, but we'll see I suppose.

  15. It's funny you mention the bad spoke, on Pack 5, during the 3rd wheel assembly, I found a short spoke, like you have, although mine was even shorter. It must've been an extra, as I had the suitable amount of spokes.

I agree, as we have discussed previously, a few extra spokes would be incredibly helpful, sooth some of the stress of a loss, and more importantly, solve some quality control issues. Your skill at fabricating the spokes is far better than mine, but the point stands and you shouldn't have to. Is it cost? How many extra screws do we have at this point? I don't think I've ever lost a single screw and have multiple of them all.

I hope your next assembly goes as smooth as mine did, and I'm glad there aren't any more wheels to assemble, though by number 4 it went well and I wouldn't mind doing a few more.

A head's up, I really struggled with laying the faux carper along the side of the transmission tunnel. Aligning it with all of the edges and angles was difficult and I had to use to extra from the left over to hide some of my mistakes. You may not have the issues I did, but taking Craigs advice and waiting to affix the gear shift until after mounting the center console will avoid breaking it. Best of luck.

  16. I'm sure all of us have seen enough wheel assemblies at this point, but I received Pack 6 last week and completed the first step, assembling the 4th (and I assume, final) wheel assembly.

Went very quickly, and was assembled in just under 2 hours, no issues or impediments. I'll continue with the rest of the pack today and tomorrow (following other's advice of leaving the gear shift off until later).

I can honestly say this wheel, was the most fun to build, it just sort of fell together and went quick.

  17. I bought a set of the Keys, stickers and micro hose clamps. The items were designed for Eagle moss' DB5, so some of the keys are large, (designed to fit/activate the ignition of their model) but the key "head" is scale. The actual key and key chain are scale and look great, frankly.

Not sure if they're worth the cost, but if you're looking for that extra detail, something to consider.

  18. I was checking to see if the Pack 7 instructions were available yet and when I clicked on the DB5 download link, I kept getting an error message. I also found the same error message on the FDNY link.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

I did check the Lotus and that seemed ok.

Nevermind, went back and clicked it again and it loaded fine. Disregard.

I also broke the gear stick but managed to drill a small hole and glue it back in, making sure the numbers were the correct way round. Agree this can be attached at a latter time. I am also missing a spoke for the wheel and awaiting a replacement. Interesting that you always get spare screws but nothing else.

    Right?!

I have so many extra screws now, but no extra spokes, on a part where they are arguably the most critical aspect to it. I suppose there are reasons for this, expense, packaging, etc. but just one extra spoke per set, would allow a small surplus if one didn't lose any on the first couple wheels.

No worries. I put my post on both the official and members builds areas to make sure it caught the majority of peoples attention.

I see from the other post that at least two other people were caught out by this. It would be nice if Agora got in touch and offered to send out a replacement gear stick and gator. Like others, I've glued mine together and it's waiting to be refitted later.

That's a good point, have you reached out to their customer service?

I have sent several messages through their contact venue and someone has responded within a few hours. My first issue was to upgrade from standard to collectors, which they did right away, but when I lost not one but two of the pins for mounting the undercarriage (shocks, a-arms, etc.) I asked for a few extra, they were happy to send me some for the cost of shipping ($15.00 USD), but when the package arrived, I received part 23f for the Zero, ooops. I read another post where someone else experienced this issue with another part request, (wrong model, right part #). I reported this and told them with the next package, I now had enough pins to compete the previous steps and asked for a few of the spokes, to take the pressure off losing one, which thankfully hasn't happened yet, but they were very apologetic and said they would send me a few extra spokes at no charge, and refunded my $15.00. Seems as though if we report an issue, they will respond, both quickly and with customer service in mind, please let us know what they say if/when you report this issue to them.

Thanks for passing along another useful tip, I made one of your expansion screw combos and it worked great! Just one more wheel to go!

  21. Thanks for the tip, little things like this are incredibly helpful and can help those of us who are a bit behind others to avoid mistakes.

After the door hinge issue in pack 1, I decided to wait a few weeks after receiving a packet, to make sure there weren't any errata points later released. Breaking something because the order of assembly is a bit off is exactly what I had in mind. Since I'm still waiting for pack 6, the more info the better!

  22. I built a variation of your brilliant idea the other day and used it to assemble the wheel in pack 4 this morning and it worked spectacularly. Kudos for coming up with that, and thanks for sharing it. Also, using the actual tyre as a rest as the A and B spokes are installed also worked great. It prevents the spokes from getting pressed back up, or tensioned and pinging every where when the tweezers snap one out, shaking the entire wheel.
