aft superstructure radar does not turn, get high pitched whine when trying to activate.

Any ideas to correct problem and how difficult would it be to access motor since build is just about complete?

Could be the motor is bad, or the motor is tightened down too much. If you can reach the mounting screws, try loosening them 1/4 to 1/2 turn.

The rear radar has an issue in that the metal spindle supplied is too short.  Solution is to add a 1mm cut piece from a toothpick and insert it into where the metal spindle goes to lift the spindle so as to makes contact with the top hole.  Otherwise the gear on the spindle will just slip out of place and spin, causing the whining sound but no radar movement.  The outer casing also has to be left just a little loose otherwise binding will occur. If all that is done then the radar will turn ok.  

This issue has been raised on all the other facebook pages so affects pretty much all builders.

Same issue here (+ a second radar is not working anymore while working previously but a bit slowly). 

How do you guys access the aft radar now that the model is almost complete ?

The aft radar also draws more current than the other two. So any drop in power will cause the aft radar to struggle/cease operating.
