  2. From the IXO Collections booth at the 2024 Nuremberg Toy Fair
  3. Great! Partwork Distribution is the only source for many of us in the USA.
  4. For race fans
  5. Fuel injection lines modification
  6. A brief description of simple scratch building details for the 917KH model that makes a huge difference in appearance. It only takes a few minutes and a little patience to make each of these parts. The electrical boots on the Messerschmitt fuel pumps are made of three parts, a circle cut from .010” styrene with a Shadow Hobby circle cutter or punch, a half round from .100” styrene rod shaped using a Dremel or lathe and a .040” rod with a hole drilled in the center for the wires. The parts painted with Tamiya matte black is very convincing to the real thing. The hose clamps are simply chrome tape cut to size with a styrene rod epoxied to the side and painted with Model Master chrome silver. The attached photo shows a finished hose clamp on a toothpick. The fuel line connectors are Detail Master fittings with a ferrule (purchased from Ted’s Modeling website) epoxied to the fitting and painted with Tamiya X-12 gold leaf. Pro Tech braided lines are used for the fuel lines. The spark plug wire looms are scratch built by gluing two sheets of .040” plastic together then drilling holes for each wire in rows of 3 or 6. A template helps to keep all the holes equal. Each part is shaped with a sprue cutter, files and sanding block.
  7. DeAgostini has released the Lotus Renault 97T for the US market. I received my first pack last week and really looking forward to this build. DeAgostini official build on YouTube.
  8. Glued the engine cover together to be removed for display. Fuel lines by Pro Tech, fittings by Detail Master and zip ties by Model Factory Hiro.
  9. Quick update finished fuel injection lines.
  10. Three out of ten packs of the Agora Porsche 917 arrived with the tape completely torn that secures the top of the box. So far nothing has been lost in shipping to California but it may be just a matter of time that the box is delivered empty. Has anyone else suggested using stronger tape to secure the box closed for shipping?
  11. Pocher Lotus 72 is currently on the bench but just a quick update where I left the Porsche. The fuel lines aren't correct according to my references, adding a fuel line to the fuel injection pump with banjo fitting at the pump. I'll wait for stage 75 to complete the fuel lines to include the right side of the car. I build 1/12 scale F1 cars so the details are important to me when the car is displayed with the engine cover open. The seats were sprayed with Scale Motorsport Faux Fabrix so not to lose the detail of the seat.
  12. Screen capture from a video on YouTube by MBS-L from the 2023 Nurnberg Toy Fair. It's the IXO Collections booth.
  13. You might want to check out a forwarding service such as partworkdistribution or colisexpat if there is something you can't live without. It's not exactly cheap because you pay for the service in addition to the model and shipping. I just purchased the 1/8 scale Ferrari F40LM Competizion from the UK to USA because this is my all time favorite car and has never been sold in the US.
  14. I've got my pre-order in at scaleautoworks. This model looks amazing.
  15. Amalgam Collections sells both of these models in 1/8 scale for $15,000 US dollars each.
  16. I built the 1/12 scale Tamiya model when I was a teen.
  17. Thanks for the comments. The spark plug wires are 30 AWG 1mm diameter that I purchased from eBay several years ago. The yellow tags are Tamiya tape with a thinned coat of canopy glue to keep them from unraveling.
  18. I'm not going crazy with mods but a few things bothered me with pack 4. The spark plug wires in the kit are out of scale, added aftermarket. A few Meng nuts and bolts Hollowed the exhaust tips with a Dremel.
  19. seem to be very popular. My suggestion is from the movie "Rush" Ferrari 312T of Niki Lauda and McLaren M23 of James Hunt in 1/8 scale!
