  1. So, as my Agora Cobra and Hachette T-800 draw to a close, my mind naturally turns to thoughts of what to do next. As luck would have it, I spotted a Patreon video from a friend of mine, the "World of Wayne" channel. So this morning I have subscribed to the Fanhome release of K.I.T.T. from the TV show "Knight Rider". I plan this thread as my build diary for this subject, but won't get my first two issues for another 18 to 25 days. From what I've seen, the build looks fantastic. Three of the first four issues are the bonnet, one wheel, and a large section of the dash - can't quite recall the contents of the other issue, but that's a good reason to re-watch the video on YouTube when it goes live later today.
  2. Fiberglass resin on its own would be far too brittle. I'd definitely go for the standard metal body on this. Gives the model a nice sense of weight too.
  3. 1:2 scale would be perfect. Another iconic build to go alongside my R2 and T-800.
  4. Although presumably too late to help laverdj, as a tip for the future might it have been possible to remove the remaining screws, remove the part, then remove the broken screw with some pliers? Certainly the use of oil when screwing into metal is a good idea. However I go one further. Without having the part to be attached in place, dip one of the type of screw to be used in oil, then screw it home [screw in for a turn, then out for half a turn. In a turn, out a half. Repeat this until the screw is home.] once the screw has hit the bottom of the hole, back it out all the way. Repeat this for all the screw holes for the part in question. Once complete, you can offer the part up and screw it in easily - once you start to get resistance, you know the part is tightly secured and stop turning the screw. The other benefit will be that if a screw breaks, you should have more of the screw showing - or at least any slight damage you do removing it will be covered by the part you want to attach.
  5. Nice ideas, I'm definitely going to have to get my spark plugs painted. I have added some paintwork and weathering to my engine, but have missed this off. Also love the windscreen washer bottle, will have to try and get one myself. Has anyone else got the Partwork Upgrades templates and waterslide transfers for the symbols? I have only got the first door done so far - with the reduced transfers they supply as the ones EM supply seem slightly too big - and I think it looks great. Little disappointed EM sent out the other front door with a mirror when so many people say it shouldn't have one. Think the replacement should be in my next delivery, and that should help get my mojo back on track for this iconic car. Due to a number of reasons, I have not put any work into my Ecto-1 for a while, the build - along with my Cobra build - is up on Modelspace if anyone wants to take a look. I do have the electronic upgrade and have the strobes working on my front bumper. It's around the time I should have been installing the bumper on the vehicle that I stopped. I have more wiring to hide in this area now, and having been thinking about this, then moving 4 hours away for a new job, I just haven't had the time, inclination, nor ability, to move this project on for now. I will be able to get my final Cobra pack this weekend, so may just be able to get a bit more work on that done. I'm sure we can start an area for pictures of finished builds somewhere.
  6. Mind you, I did get some of the DB5 the last time it was out. The run that got cancelled part way through. I had cancelled my subscription before the company did, so I didn't get the refund I was told others had. I'm sad to say that, to me at least, the quality of the paint was shocking. Bits in the paint (Mainly the underside of the bonnet, the front of the bulletproof shield at the rear), large, visible pools and runs in the lacquer as if the parts had been sprayed, then left on their side for the lacquer to dry. The contents of the under-seat weapons drawer were basic - but you're not going to see them much, and as a model maker for fo[cough] five years I can easily do a better paint job on those plastic items. I had even started to strip the metal bodywork parts in order to re-spray them when I had them all, but realised I was paying over the odds for a model I would end up practically painting all of myself. Glad to say the paint on my Agora Cobra is immaculate, and have no worries that if they picked up such an iconic car, they would do it justice and AM would have no trouble leaving the property in Agora's hands. Edit: Just to add, the DB5 and the Barris Batmobile from '66 are two of my "Shut up and take my money!" models.
  7. Is there a phone number for Agora CS? Have looked on the site, but can only seem to spot the built in e-mail form. Similar situation - just moved, want to change my address before anything further gets sent out, and scuffed the boot lid on my Cobra. Want to BUY a replacement as I don't see it's an Agora problem and I shouldn't get parts for nothing when I've been the numpty and got it damaged.
  8. I wouldn't hold your breath on getting hold of a partwork phaser rifle, or any other weapon. It would be a big risk for a company to produce anything like that - even one as obviously Science Fiction as a phaser. People have been taken down by the cops for wearing a Stormtrooper costume and having a blaster on them. Tricorder? Maybe, but I don't see many people putting up with it taking a year or two to build. (Unless it actually... you know... works!) Doctor McCoy's medical kit? Again, maybe. People would have to realise that a large chunk of the cost will be in the leather pouch. This would probably mean it being the only delivery for multiple months at a reasonable price, or a higher cost, lower length run. Would I go for either of those projects? Definitely. I'd be in for both. In fact, there are many 1:1 scale items that could be used as props I'd be up for. A 1:1 Ghostbusters Proton Pack, Ghost Trap, or Slime Thrower would be instant "Shut up and take my Money" items. I just don't know how many people would want a Proton Pack that had to be split up into smaller segments to split the cost. And any company sending out the whole shell in one go better be asking people to pay for the whole thing up front or they risk people going in for the shell and bailing as soon as it was delivered.
  9. That's good to know, thanks. In a related question, would Agora consider picking up a license that has already been issued to another company and then expired? [cough]DB5[cough]
  10. Late to the party, I know, but I'm new here. My wishlist. '66 Barris Batmobile proper 1:8 scale (Be about the same length as Ecto-1, so we know it's viable.). "Skydiver with Sky 1" RC submarine from "U.F.O." - just to take on those who have managed to get the Bismark to float and be an RC ship. Robbie the Robot 1:2 scale. Mk 3 or later Iron Man 1:2 scale - and if they do that, IronMonger 1:2 scale. Robocop 1:2 scale Hammerhead fighter from "Space: Above and Beyond". 48" Eagle from "Space: 1999" The Tumbler Batmobile 1:8 scale "The Batman" Batmobile 1:8 scale Drone 1, Drone 2, and Drone 3 from the film "Silent Running" 1:2 scale the "Dark Star" from the film of the same name, complete with inflatable alien and existential bomb. Maximillian from "The Black Hole" classic movie 1:2 scale
  11. Been waiting a long tome for this to become a reality, but have had a number of concerns previously. The original site was either quoting the wrong length or the wrong scale. A proper 1:8th scale is number 1 on my 'must have' list - and it's something I can hope for now as Ecto-1 is about the same length and that's a reality. A 1:10 scale is not something I'd be that up for. Mind you, I'd also go for a 1:8 Tumbler, or the vehicle from "The Batman". That looks an amazing modern take on the Batmobile. Huge props to the first company that gets that out of the starting gate. Having said that, I've probably cursed myself to having at least two of those three come out at the same time.
  12. Think, from what I have heard, NTTD is just about killing the franchise. Would love a 1:8 DB5, but the one I went in on was cancelled - possibly due to the terrible paintwork. If only Agora could secure the rights and get the paint right, I'd be on that like a shot! '66 Barris Batmobile in proper 1:8th too!
  13. 1:2 scale. Would look amazing next to a certain Astromech or future metal skeletal warrior! 😄
  14. I'd probably go for a 1:4 Robby, but a 1:2 Robby, that would be a must have to stand with my Terminator, R2, and BB-8. Also agree that any B-9 would have to be a classic one. Don't waste money on the film or modern series versions.
